Rayman Legends is an upcoming 2D platform game, and the fifth major game in the Rayman series. It is a direct sequel to Rayman Origins, to which it features very similar gameplay.
Shortly after the game's November 2011 release, Michel Ancel stated 'One has to know that Rayman Origins isn't just one game – we plan to make others, with retro 2D gameplay, and to give more and more details on the story.'[1] In March 2012, artistic director Christophe Villez hinted that a new Rayman game would be revealed in June, at E3 2012.[2] Also in March 2012, Bertrant Chaverot, the general director of Ubisoft Brazil, stated that Rayman Origins would have a continuation, but did not reveal any details.

I admit I would get impressed to see another Rayman game being announced this E3. What if it is related with the educational game pictures we've seen for the DS?

I think it is only a matter of time, but to be honest I was predicting more a Rayman Origins 2 than the Rayman 4. If the Art Director hinted to see more UbiArt Framework capacities in E3, there were high chances of being a sequel of RO.

Now I wonder what they'll do this time!

As a fan of the 2d platform games, I must say that this news gives me a smile RO is a pretty good franchise. I hope they make it better this time, and for fuck's sake: more returning character and a plot. It just makes me wonder... who will be the enemy now? I mean, Rayman defeated the Magician.

I don’t see how they could work the Magician’s betrayal into Rayman Origins 2, since it was already covered (albeit vaguely) in Rayman Origins 1. But there’s no doubt that lots of cut RO1 stuff will end up in RO2; the Picture City world, for instance.

I really don't hope that they are actually going to take a bunch of scrapped concepts that could easily be DLC and sell it as a new game. If this project is for real, at least let it go in the opposite direction of the first game, and eventually become a bunch of downloadable levels.

No, the English-language games media hasn’t picked up on it yet. Maybe one of us tell them about it.

They’d probably have forgotten about the Picture City cavern image by now, but along with the other Guillaume Bonamy artwork, it’s become pretty well-known since we posted it on the wiki, so maybe they’ll revisit it after all.

I could survive without Origins sequel, but I hope they'll at least make somehting like Director's Cut or a DLC. The Propeller function is what I would like to see most.

They probably will do what VALVe did with Portal and Portal 2- the second game was what the first should look like.

There are no Picture City images from Rayman Origins, but there are two from Rayman 4. Look them up; they’re not hard to find.

I still don’t understand the obsession with the propeller gameplay feature.
