Re: Rayman 1

Yes, on the PC it's definitely possible (and you must have the speed first); never played the PS1 version, so don't know if it's possible there or not (slight timing variations can make all the difference). I would assume it was intended to be impossible, as the designers of the game wanted to set u...

Re: Rayman Headcanons

Maybe some mechanics are better in RRR GBA, but it's pretty boring - almost all levels are the same, as far as I can remember. R3 GBA had more variety.

Re: Rayman Raving Rabbids

Yes, I did. I tried a Hebrew version installed from an ISO. That one was actually complaining about Jade_enr.exe being corrupt already during installation. Weird thing is that there appears to be some registry voodoo going on there. Install Hebrew version - error Install GoG version in a different d...

Re: Rayman Raving Rabbids

Not sure how accurate that info is, because I tried the GoG version and it worked fine, on both Vista and Win10. It doesn't have Hebrew, though. I'll change the wiki.

Re: Rayman Headcanons

Well, Rabbids on GBA is not a Rabbids game. It's a regular Rayman game with Rabbids as the antagonists. :)

Re: Rayman Raving Rabbids

SecuROM (not SafeDisc) should work on Windows 10, but perhaps needs to be enabled somehow? Don't remember exactly.

If you want, upload the ISO to the Internet Archive and I will take a look.

Re: I've been playing through Rayman 3 and I'm having a really hard time getting 100% in every level.

Getting the secret rooms and the "natural" combos is often enough for 100%, and if not, then at least 80%. To get the smiling Murfy for every level it is not typically required to get 100% in every segment. IMO, aiming for a high score during your first playthrough is counter-productive. You will sp...

Re: 60 levels glitch - Cake 6? Other questions too.

I just played this level, and the exit was indeed there, right at the edge of the level. There is no run-disable zone, and Rayman just runs into the exit sign. I didn't even have to get all the blue tings for it to appear (missed 6 of them). Strange.

Re: Rayman 2

So you see every segment of the game that deviates from the standard "run, jump, shoot" platforming mechanic as "janky and gimmicky"? Oh well. I can't quite agree with you on this. To me this variety is the essence of Rayman 2 and is what makes it fun and special.

Re: Rayman Origins

Actually, I think Тинси is the term used in Rayman 2, while the recent games have switched to Малютка. It's even worse than that, apparently. I found a Youtube playthrough of the Russian Rayman 2 bootleg (don't think there was ever an official release), and it looks like they call them Тинсизы , wh...

Re: Rayman 2

The Tomb of the Ancients is great, but Beneath the Sanctuary of Rock and Lava, the Iron Mountains/Gloomy Island and Prison Ship feel very lackluster compared to it. Well, everything may feel lackluster compared to the Tomb of the Ancients, especially if you are a fan of the creepy atmosphere... How...

I've been a Rayman fan my whole life (22) years.
I think my kids will eventually say the same. My son at least; daughter, maybe not as much. :P

It's funny that some would consider this something to be "ashamed" of, because I have never met anyone who actively disliked Rayman.

Re: Rayman 2

Alright, so I found some scrapped content from this game today which I think is pretty interesting and since not many people have seen it and since I don't think you guys know about these already (I actually just got to know today) so I thought why not share it with you guys. I also found some glit...

They seem rather generic, though; you could probably take any run-of-the-mill blank T-shirt and get the image printed.

Re: Rayman 2

Well that coupled with tapping the A key to jump and the spacebar to attack can be really clunky for some. Plus using ctrl to strafe didnt always work right. Ctrl, A, Spacebar is not a common control scheme for games, and not one that I prefer, but when you think about it, it is not so far-fetched....

Re: Rayman 2

It's true that they do, but this kind of analog precision is almost never required. Definitely not in Rayman 2. Possibly in Rayman 3 for very precise comboing. And, in any case, when you see people complain about keyboard being worse than a controller in platformers, they rarely think about analog p...

I regularly play pc games. Most would agree 3d platformers are best suited to controllers.
Because most 3D platformer players are console players that never learned to use a keyboard. :)

Re: Rayman 2

The keyboard has nothing to do with the difficulty of the two sections you mentioned. They are a bit annoying, but a controller doesn't make it easier. You guys just suck at using a keyboard (most console players do).
