Re: Movies you just recently watched

Last night I found Disney's Snow White on a tape of near unwatchable quality, and despite that it's still a nice film. Talking of Snow White, when the band were screwing around, we decided to cover "Dig Dig Dig/Heigh Ho". It was hilarious, we had a lot of fun. Last night, I watched "...

Re: Movies you just recently watched

I just gave my nephew three old Disney tapes to keep him quiet (Bambi, Dumbo and Snow White). He loves them, and in all honesty, I really don't mind sitting through them with the boy. Not only do they hold some nostalgic value, but I notice things that I didn't notice as a child. There are some genu...

Re: Super Mario Bros

What, Mario Bros or Super Mario Bros? Cause i do LOVE the first SMB. The NES Super Mario Bros. In my opinion, that's the best platformer ever made, despite Mario 3 being technically more briliiant. It was fairly short, challenging, and above all that, fun. Although occasionally frustrating. World 8...

Re: The Spyro Topic

I in fact just got playing the old Insomniac Spyro games again recently. I can only praise all three of them to the skies. I think that "Enter the Dragonfly" on the PlayStation 2 deserved a little more credit, though. It may not have been up to the usual standard, but glitches and loading ...

Re: Very simple games

The original Super Mario Bros. was the best platformer ever made. Not a very good story, and not really a deep world, but very fun to play, and it is very, very easy to learn how to play.

Re: Do you like the Star Wars movies?

I love the first three (from the 70s/80s). Three of the best films ever made.

The newer ones are less great.

Re: Movies you just recently watched

On the contrary, Bambi was a happy film. Yes, his mother is shot, but he receives a decent compensation - he becomes the Great Prince of the Forest and obtains two of his own fawns. If I had a penny for the amount of times I've seen that film... If they released something like that now, I'd dislike ...

Re: Movies you just recently watched

2D. Why do they call it 2D anyway? :tssk: Because only two dimensions are involved! I just showed my little nephew "Bambi". Oh, he loves that film. He then asked me to put "One Hundred and One Dalmatians" on for him. He loves that less so, but he does like it. I'm sure there was...

Re: Favorite slasher fic icon?

Jason is the best one, if not for the fact that he's an angry, insane mass murderer (he makes serial killers look merciful), but just for his appearance.

Though I demand that Leatherface is added to the list.

Re: Movies you just recently watched

I just re-watched the old Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Great film. No real gore, but very brutal. The 'chainsaw dance' in the end in which Leatherface becomes very enraged is very bizarre.

Re: Movies you just recently watched

I saw the new Friday the 13th last night. It wasn't bad, but I have seen better. The best thing, really, is the novelty of seeing Jason back on the big screen. It was certainly better than the last two installments (Jason Goes to Hell, Jason X).

Re: Your fears.

I feel a little bad about the CD situation, but Zappa must not be mixed with mainstream electronic R&B drivel.

But yes, I'd have really loved to be in his kids' classes at school. I'd just love to have a friend that I could call Moon Unit.

Re: Favorite Levels in Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee (Xbox version)?

Munch's Oddysee is wildly underrated. Whilst it may not be what OWI wanted (because of darn Microsoft and their silly deadlines), it was still a lot of fun. Still not as good as Abe's Oddysee or Exoddus. My favorite level must be Flub Fuels Scrub Pens. I enjoy possessing the armoured Slig and blasti...

Re: Music you are listening to now!

I've recently got listening to Mr. Bungle's early demos. I've started playing them more, because the wonderful jazz artists (like Charlie Parker and Thelonius Monk) are getting on Emily's nerves. 'Walkin' in Circles' from the 'Bowel of Chiley' demo had very simple, but very catchy horn parts.

Re: Your fears.

I have an irrational fear of my wife, but she's been acting funny ever since I got angry at her for placing a Britney Spears CD next to a Frank Zappa CD (shame on you if you don't know who he is).

Re: Favorite Solar System Planet (other than Earth)

Jupiter I believe is the greatest for consisting almost purely of gases (the core being the only solid part). Imagine being like that. No-one could hurt you unless they put their hand right through you're chest, and I can't seem them doing that. But then again, Venus has all the sulphuric acid. If s...
