While it's true that different versions run at different speeds (also including R3 on PC), the in-game timers work the same (so say the game is slightly slower, then the timer is slower to compensate). So as long as we rely on them it really shouldn't matter.
Not since December. I'd imagine it's because they've been working on this new game. Previously Adventures got a new update every 2 months with a new event. The Rayman Adventures Facebook page hasn't posted since June either.
I have pretty low expectations tbh. The screenshot is just showing assets from previous games. Not even the costume is new. I'm guessing it's just a collection of Rayman Adventures-like levels or something similar. Hopefully someone can grab some screenshots for the wiki as most people, me included,...
