Re: What games are you currently playing?

Though I wish I could just play the original games on PS4 instead. Even for graphics. The extra detail in N. Sane Trilogy is nice but makes it slightly harder to see what is an object and what is scenery. Not to mention I prefer the higher contrast/colors from the original games. Just nab em on PS1...

Re: What games are you currently playing?

Yeah, it's because the way platforms work in Crash 1 is that they're more pill-shaped rather than box-shaped like the original titles

Re: What games are you currently playing?

That broken pill hitbox. Yup.... sounds about right... this is a MASSIVE issue with Crash 1 specifically on the N Sane Trilogy since out of all three of the titles it requires the most precision, and the original on PS1 was built around box shaped platforms if that makes sense. By making all the pl...

I could always check my local game shop to let you know if they have one and for what cost. :P

Re: Toothpaste Myth For Scratched Game Discs

Thankfully for me, I've got a retro shop near me that is pretty anal about taking in games with scratches, so if you've got any of those nearby go to one of those.

Re: What Game Consoles Do You Own?

I own a copy of Rayman 1 jaguar, but no Jaguar. However, I do want to get a Jaguar to play this version of the game for sure. Edit: Jeez, you weren't kidding about the Jaguar console prices, I swear these were ranging in the like $100-$150 range last year, but now they're straight up going for $300...

Re: The You Game!

< is a bit wary about Rasperry Pi for <'s emulation needs

For SNES emulation < would much more recommend a SNES classic and just adding a bunch of roms to it, otherwise if ^ is looking for some MAME, Neo Geo, and other stuff ^ might find Rasperry Pi will work okay.

Re: Toothpaste Myth For Scratched Game Discs

Just be sure to read the descriptions for listings carefully next time, if you see tons of scratches on a "very good" listing you can call out that seller and refund it. I would stay away from any of the "good" listings, better yet, never go for "acceptable."

Re: This or That?

Ah damn, I really wanted to answer Ambi's question, because I think I really prefer narrative in games sometimes, particularly longer JRPGs, I absolutely love when games tries to tell expansive stories through multiple timelines and such, always been a huge fan. Action games can be fun if we're talk...

Re: This or That?

Sprites all the way. I think 3d modeling has reached quite the new milestone with the new gen of consoles but sprites will always have that more creative look. Neo Geo will always be peak for me in terms of sprite design, absolutely gorgeous. The animations are something to note to, some of those in...

Re: Toothpaste Myth For Scratched Game Discs

I hate them having scratches on them too and I take care of them lately but I often get given scratched ones for free. Even when I bought that Rayman Triple Pack for PS2, Revolution is actually the only disc that's in good condition while 3 had laser burn marks and M has a lot of scratches. I can't...

Re: Toothpaste Myth For Scratched Game Discs

On the note of scratched game discs, I've become so OCD about it lately, especially when buying disc based games on ebay and the price of dreamcast and PS1 titles are really getting up there.

Re: This or That?

I don't see how anyone could enjoy anything below PS2/Gamecube/Xbox on an HD tv, the aspect ratio looks like garbage. Even the 'fixes' such as setting it back to 4:3 with borders look unappealing.

Re: Toothpaste Myth For Scratched Game Discs

It probably depends how deep the scratches are I guess, but I really wouldn't want to put toothpaste on my discs.

Plus even with the game working there's probably still some data missing (music files and such,) though you'd have to play to find that out.

Re: Toothpaste Myth For Scratched Game Discs

Toothpaste shit doesn't fix it, "resurfacing" doesn't fix it, NOTHING fixes scratches. Take it from someone who's been collecting disc-based games for quite some time now, none of these "recovery" methods ever work, once a disc is scratched that's it, the data is lost. Resort to a new copy on ebay o...

Re: What games are you currently playing?

It isn't so much the fact that I dislike the 2D, I'd be fine with them sticking with it. The problem is how dull I feel like the series has become with the past 3 titles. If you look at some of the older Kirby titles, such as Nightmare in Dreamland or Amazing Mirror, all of them had their own unique...
