Speaking of which, could you ask him to check his PMs? It's not PC-related, just something I wanted to talk to him about.Rayfist wrote:One of his best buddies reporting.
Probably not coming back. Then again, Ad is full of surprises so you never know.
For anyone curious he's still hard at work on ROTD!

Re: Rayman 1
There are Greek references, mainly the Olympus-themed levels in Legends, but nothing meaningful. We were told that "Russian, Chinese, and Celtic fairy tales" had inspired Ancel on the first (or was it second?) game, but we never figured out what they were.

Re: Rare Rayman Pictures
Has this been posted before? Some Eric Pelatan background artwork for the TV series.

Edit: Found a couple of very nice sites for Sylvaine Jenny, the other Rayman 1 background artist.

It really is great that the Rayman social media people even have access to stuff like this.

Oh boy, this is a good one. Last night one of my best friends told me that another of my best friends (whom he doesn't know) "tried to force himself" on a girl who was apparently friends with all three of us (though he didn't tell me who the girl was). Girl cut all contact with friend 2, t...

I'll never get tired of people complaining about Rayman 2 ports.
How DARE they release that game on a new system so that more people can play it, it's a travesty.

Your source is slightly mistaken - a group/artist called Plume was involved, but there's no one named Plume Leonard.

Re: What direction will Rayman take for its 6th entry?
But what if they work on a 3D Rayman 2 spin-off? A Rayman 2 what-if spin-off game we get to play as a villain (and female) who's sent on a mission to find the four masks before Rayman does? That would be pretty awesome in my opinion. But I'm pretty sure your opinion would differ. 3D Rayman 2 spin-o...

This May the 4th thing is basically a conveniently self-propagating advertisement for Disney. I find it awfully cynical how they've made it a thing. I'm just starting to realise now how utterly inescapable Star Wars is going to be for the next few years.

In what way would a world where toxic people never die be worse for the general population than a world where they die simply to be replaced by other toxic people (ie, the one we live in now)?

Re: Something Bothering you?/Daily Doldrums
I'm not suggesting we ban or otherwise halt progress in the field - how would we do that anyway? - but that we move urgently and with conviction towards revolution so that the technology, when it arrives, will not be a tool in the hands of the few. Hand-me-down technology is just that, and will nev...

Re: Something Bothering you?/Daily Doldrums
Potential inequality is a problem, sure, but it's not a reason to place a blanket ban on progress. By that logic we wouldn't have computers or motorcars. Many radical new technologies are enormously expensive at first. The sooner they're developed and released, the sooner the lower classes will be a...

Whether it be through quick, fast bursts of bliss or long, hard-earned satisfaction, I don't think the time that is granted us should be increased over and over. You always want more, but sometimes, it's also great to be satisfied with what you have, even if some might consider it pointless. If you...

Re: Something Bothering you?/Daily Doldrums
I believe one of humanity's greatest tragic heroes would be someone who threw away all their other passions and aspirations in favour of trying to find the cure for aging, knowing that it's unlikely they'll even find it themselves, but that they'll have pushed us one step closer so we can prevent a...

So anyway, last night I dreamed I finally met spiraldoor. It was very awkward. Where did you meet me in the dream? I wonder if it's a place where I actually hang out. (You know it's bound to happen at some point in the next year or two. It's also possible that we've already met briefly without real...

Then it's surprising that in 14 years no one here's pointed out that the dream setting explains Rayman M's narrative perfectly.Bradandez wrote:That doesn't sound very creative.spiraldoor wrote:Here's my theory: Rayman M is a dream. You know, just like every other Rayman game.
