Oh, yeah, I didn't take much longer than a week or two, three to beat it either, but still I had a rough time at some points...RayTunes wrote:Actually, I beat Rayman 1 in two weeks.

Ugh, those floating balls and the surprise-attack bites from the toothed fish! And not to mention the rides on the ufosaucer-thingies along the power lines...RayTunes wrote: So did I. Eat At Joe's took me abour 10 hours to get passed.

Yes, the fish in Eat at Joe's were quite WTF. I was totally scared of them after getting used to Dream Forest's piranhas.

Re: Rayman 1
I know, I played the game a few days ago on the VBA, but it seemed like i fought against another - you see him for a moment then he disappears there will be coming fireballs and lightning out of nowhere, then you see him he turns into a ball and you have to shoot himShrooblord wrote:Yeah I thought so too! I was all like "Allright, evil Moksito Sax hybrid thingy beaten... now here comes the big guy-- what, the game is over?!"Mr. Dark Thingamajig wrote:Mr. Dark is really my favorite character in R1
It's stupid that you can't fight against him but only against the mixed bosses
However, I also have the Game Boy Colour version - and there you do fight against Mr. Dark. I found the Colour edition a really fun one, as it combines music from Rayman 2 with addictive new levels not found in the original Rayman, as well as new areas, but also has all the cool parts like Mr. Dark and Bad Rayman. Definately a recommend if you've got a GBC.
Off with their heads!
Re: Rayman 1
Mr.Dark was too easy in the GBC version. Itn took me no less than ten minutes.

Re: Rayman 1
I find interesting how Mr. Dark is much more aggressive in the Game Boy Color version than in the original home-console versions. I would like to have seen both endings fused into one.

And I must not. He obviously wasn't super hard, but you didn't fight anything serious for the whole game.Mr. Dark Thingamajig wrote:i must agree with RayTunes

I think the Mutant Reflux is the hardest boss of the trilogy.

Re: Rayman 1
Yeah, the final battle against Reflux was the hardes for me too.And the second would be Razorbeard.Well,I think,I've not battled Mr.Dark...Never finished R1
Re: Rayman 1
Razorbeard is unusually harder in the PS1 version. The spinning spikes and the random shots of cannons, helicopter bombs and shark missiles really difficult the battle.

Wow, I remember beating the first part, then him turning into that gigantic monster, and I was all like 'WTF!!'Haruka wrote:I think the Mutant Reflux is the hardest boss of the trilogy.
Then he started flying and shooting lasers out of his mouth, but he took only one hit to kill, so that was okay.
Then he developped wings and I couldn't ever beat him the first time I played the game. Only this year have I managed to finally kill him there.
AND THEN HE COMES BACK. WITH HOODLUMS.
But then it's over. Yeah, quite the fight.
I thought the Razorbeard fight was challenging, but didn't think it was really hard. I remember the first time trying to beat him, I failed. Then the next day I played some more and failed again, I think due to rising lava and hound bullets trapping me inbetween lava and immenantly close ceiling. The day after I think I finally learnt how to get rid of the bullets (make staggering motions and ram your rocket's underbelly into a wall - it crashes the missiles and you get to survive) and deal with the rising lava and I think that's when I beat him.

I don't remember well but I think it was similar to the PC version when it comes to difficulty...

I simply think that Rayman became easier and easier through the years.Difficulty ranking (for me):
R1>RR>R2>R3
