I edited it down to just the Rayman bit if anyone's interested in giving it a listen. http://www.filedropper.com/rayman4unseen64podcast

This is all very interesting. I'm looking forwards to the video! One thing I noticed is that the image of the prototype shows Windows 8 borders. This means someone has access to it.

Re: Unseen64 to detail new revelations about Rayman 4!
Things that stood out for me:
>Traditional platformer
>Beat em up elements (Kind of remnant of Rayman 3)
>Phoenix's pitch as Spyroguy mentioned
This 'videogame' concept is REALLY bizzare to me, I quite like the idea, but it's very strange. Literally Wreck-it Ralph.
>Dark Rayman returning as a minor villain
>Mr. Dark being a 'virus'
>Gameplay intended to be a full on reboot of R1, of how R1 would be in the third dimension (Hence the concept art we've seen in the past)
>No cinematics in the game (Only thing I'm not a fan of)
>Ubisoft afraid of Wii
>Ubisoft cancelled Phoenix's big project. What a bunch of asshats.
To think if the Wii hadn't been announced this project would probably have continued...
>Existing prototype of Rayman 4
>Video to be done on this pretty soon
The Zombi U being a Rabbids games debacle is REALLY interesting to me, the whole blowing heads off sounds hilarious. But it's easy to see why that was cancelled, lol.
Overall this is all very fascinating. Rayman 4 is not what I was expecting it to be, but it sounds really cool. There's no doubt I get a Wreck-it Ralph vibe from it, but it's such a different direction for Rayman. I would've love to seen that.
It got to show Ubisoft really had to ruin the show.

I really wish this game sees the light of day once but given the current direction of Rayman series, I doubt it will ever be the case.

So basically the Wii unintentionally ruined both Rayman 4 and RRR (

It's funny how they at first feared the Wii knowing how big it would end up being, but now they're practically laughing at the Wii U. My, how the tables have turned for Ubisoft.

It seems like that I've got the answer to my question from Patreon itself.
"No charge has been placed yet. If you've pledged to a "per creation" campaign, you will only be charged if Unseen64 submits a paid post before the end of the month."
Now, that sounds surprisingly fair.

Anyone noticed in the picture of the development build, http://i.imgur.com/e8Sx4wD.jpg That guy from the GBA version of RRR is in this? That little blurry thing in the background. Zoom in and you'll see it.
It's clear that there is the mustache and the hands.

Re: Unseen64 to detail new revelations about Rayman 4!
That's interesting given that this iteration of Rayman 4 had nothing to do with the Rabbids.

Re: Unseen64 to detail new revelations about Rayman 4!
It's been pretty well known recently that Phoenix's Rayman 4 was a completely different thing from the Rabbids Rayman 4, so of course the Phoenix one had no Rabbids in it.Sabertooth1000000000 wrote:That's interesting given that this iteration of Rayman 4 had nothing to do with the Rabbids.
Also, that picture confirms my suspicions: RRR for the GBA was mostly based on Phoenix's Rayman 4, and not RRR.
Re: Unseen64 to detail new revelations about Rayman 4!
There are many parallels between Phoenix Interactive's concept of R4 and the GBA version of RRR, like the worlds being very reminiscent of Phoenix Interactive's concept art, moreso than the actual R1 worlds the concept art was based on. I wouldn't be surprised if the GBA version started development with Phoenix's concept of R4 and the concept art and assets they had produced as a base.Sabertooth1000000000 wrote:That's interesting given that this iteration of Rayman 4 had nothing to do with the Rabbids.

Re: Unseen64 to detail new revelations about Rayman 4!
I shall give a listen to the podcast sound file but from the things I've read so far in this discussion, the game had a totally different direction than what I was thinking. While the reboot idea does not please me a lot the rest seemed to have gone to an interesting route.
As for Zombi U, I already knew the story behind it.

I thought it was a fairy at first, but now you mention it it could very well be it.FunkyboardWizard wrote:Anyone noticed in the picture of the development build, http://i.imgur.com/e8Sx4wD.jpg That guy from the GBA version of RRR is in this?
