Ripping the voices from Rayman 3?

Post by danylopez123 »

I was trying to figure out how to extract the voices from Rayman 3, but i still dont know how

The reason why i need the voices is for something im doing outside from the Rayman games, if i say what is it, i might adversite and no one likes that

At least if someone can tell me how do i extract the voices or someone extract the voices, i will apreciate it

Especially the Spanish voices, im from Spain, i just need both English and Spanish voices

I believe the voices were already extracted at some point, but the problem is there are so many clips that it is a real mess to look for the dialogue we really want to hear.

Maybe also Szymski (another Polish here) would be capable of doing this.

Or maybe in this topic somebody will reply:

I love this dubbing. It really rocks :)

and:

Droolie has a ready tool:
viewtopic.php?t=13043#p1068114
once he said voices are in hst file.

He disabled PMs, but I gathered his email few years ago (and even FB...):
Spike_The_Norn[at]hotmail.com

ICUP321 was probably also having this tool:

edit
here are the voices in wav (PS3):

So a little bump with this thread. (also happy 2019 I guess) So all topics surrounding this topic of ripping voices from Rayman 3 (especially from versions other than English) seem to be dead. My questions is was there any progress with that or literally everything died?

Well, I don't know anything about ripping stuff from games, so that's why I don't post at all in ripping threads.

I don't know much either, but I am genuinely interested as some people would like them ripped. My games are all European so that means they'd have the multi languages if they are dubbed.

Download https://bitbucket.org/Zenchreal/decubisnd/downloads/
Open Rayman 3 Hoodlum Havoc\Gamedatabin\World\Sound\data.hst for scanning.
Wait
Select all
Set info>samplerate 22050
1 channel
Save to wav
write some random name
press OK everytime
Voila

Output files are mixed eachother by various languages and music. No filenames preserved.
Maybe Droolie/Synthesis/gmsj0001 did it better. Filenames were somewhere in hxc files.

For proper music decoding pick 2 channels 22050 or 1 channel 44100 (which I'm surprised why it sounds that good, and that both options works).

This tool probably crashes on W10 or some country specific versions but you can check it out alternatively if it doesn't extract music only:

EN/FR/GER/IT/SPA voices with filenames extracted with Droolie's tool by ICUP321 (filenames preserved):

(extracted voices are from PS3, the best quality version).

PC PL voices rip [ Rayman 3 polskie pliki dialogów ] (though Begoniax dialogues slipped me) (470 in total):

For Russian, Ukrainian, Czech, Slovak and Hebrew -
Possibly universal file list to filter language files in other exclusive releases of PC version (assuming that file names will be the same for all exclusive language releases):
Still some files are needed to filter out manually, but not so much) -

1. Extract the files in decubisnd with the name "gadka" (save to wav and write "gadka" then confirm)
2. Copy the Recycler files
http://www.maddogsw.com/cmdutils/
to the extracted audio folder
3. Download bat files:
https://yadi.sk/d/XfBJH4qXpFdsyA
4. Copy two bat files there
6. Now all your language files are in recycle bin.
Just cut them from there and paste in new folder.
Such script was the easiest to write.
7. Filter out left overs

Every next 5th file name beginning from our first language file of choose was calculated in Excel.
When I hit on some music, or wrong language, I was falling back on the list, and I was trying to find new language file of choose.
Then I merged cells in Excel by "&" formula (A1&B2&C3 for /gadka/_/6/.wav/) and drag to the end of column after creating /gadka/_/11/.wav/ and picking both rows.

Hello ! I'm also interested to get Rayman 3 voices from data.hst.

ICUP321's upload is great but i'm looking for all voices, there are missing some characters like Teensies and Andre.

The first tool (DecUbiSndGui) can extract all files in .wav but the sounds are low and in very bad quality. :(
Here is a voice exemple (in multiple languages):
Voice_exemple.rar
(772.72 KiB) Downloaded 174 times
I tried RayAudio for GC version but it's not working for me.

I also tried Nova Extractor: i can get a lot of .wav files but none is playable. It's only working with Data.hos which gives sounds effects.

Try PS3 version archive, and relevant Droolie's extractor.
It gives the best quality.
PC version has voices in 22kHz. Low quality is not really because of specific extracting program, but maybe due to a better decoder in the game or eventually some lacks in extractor's decoder implementation, probably lack of good documentation.

I could upload all the PS3 version's sounds, but I won't upload them in .wav format because then the file size would be EXTREMELY large, so the format would be PS3 .msf format which can be converted using VGMStream.

I've performed the extraction and flitering according to the instructions above for Hebrew and Russian versions. I didn't test every resulting file, but a random sampling shows that it's correct - these are indeed the language-exclusive dialogues and the numbers match.

Hebrew WAVs:

Russian WAVs:
https://yadi.sk/d/KJsj6VzM0yO_kA

Modified batch file (which combines the two previous files and just moves the files to a new folder instead of using the somewhat cumbersome Recycle bin method that also needs a special utility):

Pixel revealed that Foobar2000 with VGMStream can open all the audio from Rayman 3 PC, keeping all the filenames with paths corresponding to codenames of game levels. Dialogues, SFX, music. Using any scripts or external tools is no longer necessary. Just make sure you have Foobar e.g. 1.6, because I think 1.3 have some artifacts on dialogue files, or it was due to too many DSP enabled.

1. Download Foobar2000
2. Download VGMStream plugin and install it in Foobar
3. Drag and drop whole Rayman 3 folder, because it won't open DATA.HST itself, but HXC files referring among others to data.hst.
