I always did say I liked the Origins style, but there's nothing wrong with Legends either, I really like that game too. Both UbiArt games will never get old to me.

Same man, it really is gorgeous in my opinion.

They both are technically, the scenery on Legends is really beautiful.

Very true as well!

Not sure which one I prefer but they both look great.

It'd be interesting to see Legends remade in Origins' style. Kinda like a reverse Back To Origins, but preferably more complete.

Picture City in Origins would have been great too.

I get the feeling someone's done that with Texmod, though possibly in the original style, not the Origins one. It'd be cool.

As for Legends, I almost feel that the Dojo already goes a long way towards capturing the Picture City aesthetic in the new style…

Hunchman801 wrote: Fri Aug 23, 2019 5:13 pm Oh that's great! I need the lines of dialogue from the Bubble Dreamer when you pull his beard with each character (I believe that's the only way to get the characters' names, right?).
The full dialogue? That would take some time because I'm gonna have to copy it line-by-line, since the strings don't seem to appear verbatim in any of the game files. Or do you just want the character names?

It's fine if you just take one screenshot per character, I can transcribe the text later when I have time. :)

As far as I know, there's multiple dialogues for each character in Origins, unless you're only looking for the first one from each character.

Then I would ideally need every line of dialogue, though it might be easier to get them from the game files at this point.

That would be interesting indeed just now that I think about it. :)

I wouldn't mind helping with it too, but it would certainly take a while to get them all.

OK, here they are, attached to this post. I had to crop and resize them, and even then split into 3 parts to get over the single file size limit.

Hope the text is legible enough for you; if not, let me know and I'll transcribe / translate it. If you want the originals (at 1280x720, ~130MB), just let me know where you'd like them uploaded.

Attaching here one sample full-size screenshot (which I had to retake, since I noticed only after the fact that it didn't make it into the archive).

As you probably know, the Bubble Dreamer does not explicitly mention the names of all characters, only some of them. Here are the one that appear verbatim (or almost) in the Russian dialogue:

Красный Глобокс (Red Globox)
Малютка Рэй (Teensy Ray)
Малютка Гот (Goth Teensy)
Великий Минимус (Grand Minimus)
Малютка-ниндзя (Ninja Teensy)
Первый Великий Минимус (The First Grand Minimus)
Гломброкс (Glombrox)

Thanks a lot, this should be just fine! I think I can make out the text on the pictures, though I'll let you know if I need the high-res versions.

In any case, this seems to confirm all the information I had, which is very a good thing.

I spent most of my night messing about with my Debian installation. I installed mesa drivers from a non Debian PPA and then I couldn't get Origins to launch with D9vk anymore.

I decided after all the trouble to just reinstall Debian and start fresh, only to have the same problem on the stable Debian mesa driver (I wasted my time reinstalling the OS).

The conclusion is that Proton 4.11-3 won't work for me anymore, even though it did before. I have to use 4.2-9 at the moment and I can't figure out what might be wrong.
