When it comes to proprietary NVIDIA drivers, the latest proton seems to work better than using any other method as of yet, as I tested it with my Nvidia laptop too. The 2 most recent versions of proton won't launch Rayman Origins using D9vk, but it's almost unnecessary to use at this stage. It still works slightly better on mesa with D9vk and an older proton version, but it's marginal.
The trails leading to the cages no longer even have any issues at all, but the air currents on the Desert of Dijiridoos are missing parts of their blue trails is all. They're still visible, as you can see the leaves and white streaks, so the game isn't too far from being perfect out of the box on Linux now.

It makes me wonder if the reports myself and others shared on protondb were actually acknowledged, as I reported it to work with D9vk and then seen many other reports saying the same thing. It's great that they're actually making these improvements.
