The first conference begins tommorow and since nobody else wanted to take the helm of creating this thread, I thought it was appropriate to do it now for the sake of tradition.

List of conferences and schedules

Previous E3 threads:

I'm mostly looking forward to some suprise reveals this year, but concerning new info about stuff we alread know about, I'd like to see some footage on the new Smash game/port for Switch with some character reveals, Ancel's WiLD(although I don't really expect to see it) and Beyond Good & Evil 2.

The first conference to start the E3 today is EA.

Well, EA conference was mostly crap. The new indie license Sea of solitude seems quite promising as a narrative survival, and it was nice to see a (little) bit more on Anthem.

I didn't play the original, but Unravel Two also looks pretty cool with it's new co-op mechanics and once again great visuals, however other then that game, what you've mentioned and the fact they thankfully also didn't spend a lot of time on sports stuff, the conference was, while a little better then recent years, the usual EA E3 shtick with the most painful part probably being a full round they played of that uninteresting mobile game.

I completly agree about Unravel 2 if it is your kind of game. It isn't mine, and I found that the gameplay was too much assisted.

Now, the Microsoft conference was clearly demential. Kingdom Hearts 3 also available on PC and XBox, with the new environments presented, Fallout 76, We Happy Few incoming, Dying Light 2, Gears of War 5, and above all, CYBERPUNK FUCKING 2077 AND ITS NEW CGI TRAILER.

I just thought that from what EA had to show, Unravel Two really stuck out as an interesting sequel, I didn't play the original and I don't know if I'd even like it, but you gotta give credit where credit is due.

Anyway, Microsoft's conference made EA's presentation look like a shitshow, you didn't even mention DMC5, a sequel I've been dying to see for a pretty long time now, Cuphead is getting more content, which is great because I really enjoyed that game, Battletoads are getting a new game and Halo Infinte looks really interesting.

Overall I think what we saw here from Microsoft was a lot better then what they showed last year.

What I said about Unravel was my feeling after playing the first one, not what I thought of the trailer. Really, it got me bored pretty quickly, because as I say, you don't play by yourself a lot, and the gameplay barely never changes.

Yeah I forgot DMC5 that looked very nice of course, I got the feeling that it was less dark and more crazy than as usual, even though the last one I played was the 3rd. Concerning Cuphead, I wasn't sure whether it was a DLC or a new game.
Greeness wrote:Overall I think what we saw here from Microsoft was a lot better then what they showed last year.
It was very nice of course, but Microsoft was also quite solid last year : Assassins Creed Origins, first announce of Metro Exodus and Anthem, Cuphead, Darwin Project...

I also hope that Bethesda will do a better conference than last year where they presented only 3 games including a mobile one.

Really? To me it looked like a pretty involved 2d puzzle platformer, I'll keep this in mind if I ever decide to give it a shot.

Oh I'm not trying to dunk on their conference from last year, it also had some great moments like you've mentioned, I just think that this year they really knocked it out of the park and had something to offer for everyone, which is something very important for conferences like these.

This is the only one I skipped last year, heard it had some good stuff but nothing mindblowing, I'll tune in to see it this time however.

Watched majority of Microsoft, and a lil bit of Bethesda.

Microsofts was EXCELLENT in terms of third party showings, that Devil May Cry 5 reveal took me by surprise, which will be running on the Resident Evil 7 engine, those character models look DAMN good (Capcom's been killing it lately, they really deserve their own conference.) When I was watching that segment live I flipped out because I thought what was being shown was a generic survival horror game, but knew we were in for something as soon as the Capcom logo showed.

Anyway, in terms of first party showings, Microsoft still proves that they never learn. The only actual Xbox One exclusives shown were the new Gears, Halo, and Battletoads. Everything else will appear on other consoles. I'd have to give their conference a 6.5/10, excellent third party, but lacking on the exclusives as usual. Otherwise I would've easily given this conference a 7.5-8.0. That being said, supposedly Microsoft bought out Ninja Theory, which I think is a step in the right direction- as Ninja theory has an excellent record of making great, quality games. So I hope, unlike Rareware, Microsoft makes good use of the company. Oh also Battletoads. No gameplay shown so I couldn't really get hyped. I think it's going to be a hand drawn remake of the original, possibly.
Lovemetal wrote:Kingdom Hearts 3 also available on PC
Pretty sure that isn't coming to PC.

Bethesda I didn't watch very much just read the news after. And I'm really stoked to see a sequel to Doom, one of the best-rebooted shooters in recent years. Also not a huge Elder Scrolls fan here, but I can tell people are totally stoked for Elder Scrolls 6, now we don't gotta keep worrying about a plethora of Skyrim ports anymore lol.

Pretty good conference from Bethesda, including gameplay from Rage 2, whose gameplay looks very nervous a bit like an old school Call Of Duty with several fast-FPS elements, a new Doom, a new Fallout... Regarding TESVI, the only thing we know is that they are working on it, not a single trailer or an info.

Concerning Devolver, it was as crazy as last year.
Rayfist wrote:I'd have to give their conference a 6.5/10, excellent third party, but lacking on the exclusives as usual.
In total there was still 18 exclusive Xbox titles presented. Well yes most of these were actually indies presented in 10 second in the compilation video. Anyway, even if most of the title were third-party, it is still cool to see them annouced somewhere!

Also don't forget their XBox Premium game pass, a subscription to play more than 100 free games monthly.

Oh I guess there were far more than I gave credit for, I thought stuff like Tunic was gonna end up coming out on all consoles, but I guess it's exclusive?

I got mixed up with the whole world premiere and exclusive stuff (especially since they presented PUBG as an exclusive LOL)

Microsoft was a great show, but almost everything that looked good is still also on other platforms. I also completely lost interest in Cyberpunk 2077 due to how generic it looked, but I'm excited to get Tales of Vesperia (though I would have preferred any other Tales, since ToV is one of the only ones I played) and DMC5 on PS4.
Bethesda was good too. Strangely I quite liked the look of that mobile TES game they showed, mainly because it will also be ported to consoles, so that'll be a tiny (and free) TES game to try out. TES6 would have been an interesting announcement if they didn't also say it was coming after their first next-gen game - so it's really, really far off.

Can't wait for Square Enix. Last time they had a press conference the announcements were fantastic.
I don't know what to expect from Ubisoft since the lack of Rayman and the "create your own story" nature of BG&E2 aren't really giving me any hype, but Sony should also be pretty good.

I think Microsoft had a good line-up of exclusives to show this year, the only problem is that they're also coming to Windows 10 and most likely Steam as we've seen with Cuphead, it's a good alternative for those who don't want to buy an Xbox One, but it will certainly not do any more favors to the console's sales.

Bethesda had a pretty solid conference this year, the musical preformance from Andrew W.K was fucking ridiculous for E3, but it slowly started picking up from there, a lot of people wanted a sequel to the 2016 Doom reboot(thank god they didn't call it Doom 2) so it was good to see that, they're finally making a new Elder Scrolls game and we now know what's Fallout 76, I only hope it'll also have an offline option so it doesn't die one day due to a lack of online support from the devs.

Not really a huge fan of the new direction BG&E2 decided to take, but I'm still interested to see what they show this year, as for Rayman I really don't see it happening, maybe a collection of the first 3 games to Switch, but even that's stretching it.

What? That looked anything but generic to me. I know the whole "what if, civilization were made up of androids" concept is being overused now, especially with Detroit: become human, but that game looked like it was gonna be a lot fun.

I hope I can watch Squares E3 if the internet at my friends place will allow it. I'm really hoping we see more on the FF7 remake but I feel like that's caught in development hell at the moment.

Update (apologies for double post)

Square Enix was seriously underwhelming, they showed us stuff we all knew was coming, and no updates for the FFVII remake. They showed the Quiet man and Babylons fall without any gameplay really. I am really stoked for the new Dragon Quest, but again, we all knew this was coming.

Ubisoft, aside from that new Beyond Good and Evil 2 trailer, not much special. Although Jade is looking sick, seems like she hasn't aged at all from here to BG&E 1. Game looks fun as hell too. It really breaks my heart a lot of Rayman fans have a super pessimistic attitude when Beyond Good and Evil starts showing. Ancel is pouring his heart and soul into this, just leave the dude alone.

Anyways, we got Sony coming up in a bit, really hope to see some gameplay for Death Stranding, seems like Kojima's got something big up his sleeves. Anyways, happy E3!

I realize in the midst of my scoring madness lately I haven't watched any of the conferences. That's ok though since the ones I wanted to watch were today and yesterday.

Square Enix was...ok, but a little disappointing for me since I wanted to see how the FFVII remake was coming. Nearly everything else, as Rayfist said, was already expected.

Ubisoft was alright too, definitely has me hyped for BG&E2, Jade still looks amazing despite no green lips (loved those lips), and just the fact that she and Pey'j are there make me happy, since I thought they weren't going to be in this game. I am excited to hear more about this game, and I hope this becomes more successful than BG&E, which in my opinion is a pretty good game! No Rayman was pretty much expected. I'm also a bit curious to see what they do with Star Fox in Starlink (if I heard it correctly).

If I have time today when I'm not busy, I really want to take the time to watch Nintendo's conference. Maybe I'll watch Sony later, since I missed that one.. :oops2:

Now this is disheartening to hear. Honestly I dunno why people would bash the game, the first game was amazing!! I am very much looking forward to BG&E2's release, and when it comes out I hope everyone else will change their tune. :)

Hmmm. I'm a bit disappointed that I was looking forward to this E3.

EA was EA.
Microsoft was great, had many announcements, but not much that really grabbed me.
Bethesda was logo announcements.
Square Enix was too short and I have no idea why they hyped it up so much. Babylon's Fall could be interesting though.
Ubisoft had a great showing with BG&E2 - the godly trailer ending with the reveal of Jade and Pey'J got me hyped for that game again. I didn't care about the rest of their games though.
Sony was weird, and the main games they wanted to show looked fantastic, but I'm not that interested in them. Maybe Ghost of Tsushima.
Nintendo was Smash. Only Smash. And... Smash isn't my thing. But I must admit I found it funny when Mario was brutally murdered by Ridley.

The main thing I really loved every time it showed up was Kingdom Hearts III, I am really looking forward to that. Apart from that... not very much that I cared about.

I'll have to see more of it, but it's mainly the atmosphere that I disliked in that trailer. If it had been the classic Blade Runner-esque rainy nighttime atmosphere I would have liked it more, even though it's a cliché that I'm happy they're avoiding... but stuff like that is also kind of what I want from a "cyberpunk" game. The city was also overflowing with criminal stuff, which of course is interesting, but too much and I feel it gets rather monotonous. Both of these things are just the trailer, of course (though I had similar issues with the Witcher games) - but I still lost the interest I had.

I only watched Nintendo, and yeah, some more time for other titles would have been nice. Still, as someone who enjoys Smash, I am pretty excited for this one. Every character from every Smash game in one... (Though I guess all hopes for Rayman in a Smash game are pretty much dead now).

Added a new poll.

Overall Microsoft wins for me this year, while I still don't think there are enough exclusives that would make gamers want to get an Xbox One over other consoles, they had just enough exciting titles to appeal to almost everyone watching this year.

I think both Nintendo and Ubisoft caught a little of my attention, so i'd choose between those 2. Can't wait for BG&E2. :)
Still chose Nintendo though. The Smash Ultimate game included all Smash characters from the past, so that was interesting to see. Curious to see when the game comes out.
