Grand Theft Auto

Post by Steo »

I see there's no thread for GTA and with the recent talks of it in The You Game, I thought it would make sense if we had a thread dedicated to it.

I personally have never played a GTA game I didn't really like, I think the franchise is nothing short of amazing. My favourite GTA game has to be GTA: San Andreas. I have so many memories and spend countless hours of my teenage life on that game, it's such a good game that I don't regret a second of it. From jumping off Mount Chiliad on a push bike to doing cheats just for the fun of it, I have to say I absolutely love that game. Apart from that, the story is pretty solid too :D

The only GTA game I ever got 100% completion in is GTA V, where I got the Platinum for it on PS4. There was a lot of work put into it though including the online Trophies. I also had a lot of fun playing GTA Online.

This thread is for any general GTA talk, I've also created a favourite game poll :)

Well, I only have played seriously San Andreas on PS2, which was amazing I agree, and Chinatown on DS, which was fairly good.

I never really played too much of Chinatown Wars but i did play it for a few hours and thought it was fairly good too for a DS port. My favourite handheld of the game would be Vice City Stories for PSP. I found GTA V a good game too and I really liked Vice City.

GTA San Andreas on PS2 though is definitely my favourite.

You are welcome, my good sir... :hap:

I was into GTA Vice City ever since I was young because I liked the car models, the songs in the radio stations the best and how colourful everything looks.

Vice City still remains a gem today which I need to replay, that includes Vice City Stories also. I also should play San Andreas again and attempt to get 100% on it, since it's a really amazing game after all :)

100% in a GTA game takes a lot of time though which will be worth it because it's so awesome.

I think what I have to do now, are collecting the oysters and taking the snapshots and spraying the rest of the tags in Los Santos.

I think that there is only one more courier mission to do now as well as Dirt Ring. I don't what else is left to do now for 100%, honestly. I did everything else including the side missions.

Good luck on getting the 100%

I remember when we used to export the vehicles at Easter Basin Docks, we used to have no internet so we had no idea where to look for the cars :P

I have only one more snapshot to find and I can't find it anywhere.
It's my fault, I should have collected these things in the guide's numbered order, But Since I had one randomly, I am everywhere so it is difficult.

I kept getting distracted and kept earning wanted levels out of boredom and maybe anger.
And later on.. In the end...

I got fucking BUSTED....

Something is telling me to quit 100% of San Andreas.

As I said 100% of a GTA game is not an easy task, they really gave you your moneys worth with those games back before we all had internet. I'll attempt to get 100% on it myself at some stage too, but I know I probably won't manage. Either way it's a really good game and I'll definitely replay it :)

I came Back to it again, and completed The Boat School and the Valet Side Mission which provided me with a revenue.

Not too much trouble at all, I must say. They were walks in the park.

The more you talk about it, the more I want to play it. I own it on Steam and PS2, but the game is so good that even on PS2 I wouldn't take anything away from it.

There's lots of mods on PC too though I feel I'd prefer to play the story with only 2 mods, being controller input and getting the missing songs back on the radio which they removed.

I played GTA III, Vice city, Liberty city stories, San Andreas and V ...
Really the one I love the most is Vice City, its aesthetics, its music, its ambience, its protagonist Tommy is a clear reference to Scarface, that eighties time that gives you the feeling of being there, sincerely I would like to see my adolescence experienced in the 80s

Vice City is seriously amazing. There's just a few reasons I liked San Andreas more. It's mainly the climbing physics present and the planes in the game too. There's other little reasons but with the game being newer, it makes sense. I personally love the story in San Andreas too.

I admit though that the setting of Vice City is outstanding, it's a brilliant game and my 2 favourite of the series would be San Andreas and then Vice City.

The only thing that I don't like about San Andreas is the atmosphere with the Gangster Bullsh!t.
But later on in the game, that atmosphere sorta goes away and you hang around and do other crazy missions.

Oh you mean the bullcrap where you're trying to do something and the Ballas just start shooting you for no reason? Or the territories?

Well there is a reason for that since they are enemy territories and they don't take too kindly to "visitors".

I meant the game in general. But that is only in the first chapter of the story which is Los Santos. So there is no point in me sulking.

Even before all the territory stuff, they still just shoot you when you're in the middle of stuff. But yeah once you get to Las Venturas, the game gets a lot more fun. I used to always gamble in The Four Dragons Casino and play video poker

I basically need to do anything stupid since I have the PS3 version. It has trophy achievements and a few of them are hidden so they could be corresponding to anything that I do at all. I unlocked a few of them already....UNINTENTIONALLY.

Oh yeah, I have the Xbox 360 version of that too which is very similar. I actually must get back to that version since I made it pretty far into that last time I played.

Wow, this thread was left for dead a full year ago? It really doesn't feel like it. Time sure flies!

I want to bring it back for some GTA talk, especially since I'm considering playing Liberty City Stories again so I can actually finish the story. I did really like Vice City Stories and finished that, so I really need to give the Liberty City games some love.
