Thought this would interest some of you, It's a response Ancel made to a question on his Instagram regarding BG&E2:
Michel Ancel wrote:
will you be able to make ur own protagonist?
Yep and crew + custom your space « house » ship ;)
I didn't strictly follow the game's development so I'm not sure if this detail was already touched upon, but I figured I'd still share it.

Bump.

I’m playing this game currently. I wish I had played this before, this is totally a good amount of fun for me, I especially am liking so far the environments and Jade. I hope BG&E2 will be just as great (even if she isn’t in it)

New video showing the combat mechanics (very similar to the first game) and the ship maneuvers with new gameplay.

Nice video :)

Phew after playing the game for hours straight I have to say the game FEELS really long. I take a lot of time in one area to make sure I’ve got everything so I could be stuck on one area for hours. I’ve been stuck in the factory for nearly all afternoon so I wonder how long I will be stuck in other locations searching. But I feel it’ll be worth it in the end. :)

Btw, recently when I save, I find that there is an internet code below my save file. Can anyone tell me what this code is for?

Never heard of this. Maybe this is the key for Rayman 4 ?

Haha I wish. I'll see if I can' get a screenshot and post it here later. :)

It's basically the equivalent of the Lums Race code in Rayman 3.
Also, there's a bureau in the Akuda Bar that you need a code to open. When the game came out, the only way to get that code was to go onto one of the tie-in sites, enter your internet code, and attempt to "hack" Fehn Digler's account.
I think the tie-in sites don't exist anymore, but you can use the code for both of these purposes on BG&E Myth instead. (Although it just gives you the code for the bureau in Akuda Bar, rather than making you play a game for it. :P)

I feel like I must throw this out here now in light of BG&E2's appearance in E3 2018.. So far I like what I'm seeing, with the exception of the ending. Wait..WHAT??!?!
Why is Jade being portrayed as a villain. A VILLAIN, of all things! I hope the explanations will become clear to me when I get the game in the future. (Or maybe through demo videos later on...)
I am not as surprised to see Jade without green lips. I was told it was a prequel, so anything can go here. Still it was one of the more unique and beautiful aspects of her character design that I liked.

I mean, I think it was pretty clear she had a past beyond good and evil. I'm not surprised to see her like this, in fact, seeing Pey'j and Jade made me a tad more excited for this! I'd love to see more.

Did i am the only one who thinks that the game look more like a sequel than a prequel. I mean, Pey’j and Jade look clearly more older than the first game (or is maybe because the realistic design of BG&E 2)

Despite my initial shock at seeing Jade seemingly being portrayed as the bad guy, I share the same feelings, I am definitely more hyped for this game now than I already was, especially since I played BG&E recently and got hooked! :)
And you're right it was pretty obvious about her having a past. The M-disk Pey'j gives her is probably the most obvious reference.

I think it's because of the more realistic design that they look older, though in my opinion Jade looks younger. Still as smoking hot as always :D

Doesn't surprise me. I had the notion that she could betray me in the back of my mind even as I played the first game. I felt strongly as the game reached its climax that someone was going to betray me, and realized Jade herself was probably the most likely candidate. After all, she was thinking of giving up earlier…

All well and good, but it ruins my headcanons where the Glade exists in the same universe, and she's connected to Ly. Unless… maybe Ly's green lips aren't natural either. Then what about her purple hair. AND… what about Olympia's green hair?? And wait! Olympia has "Ly" in her name! Wait… what was my point again? :fou:

Wouldn't be the first time Michel pulled that one on us. :P Still, I'm sure there's a perfectly logical explanation.

We're talking about how amazing I am!!
Just kidding, we're talking about how awesome Jade looks in this trailer! I'm now more curious than ever to see how this game turns out. I totally want to get it, of course... :)

I thought it was more obvious when the DomZ priest attempted to take control of her, though now that I think about this part, it does seem very likely that Jade could fit the role of a bad guy better than any of the other characters. At least that's my opinion now.

You know now that I think about it, the Alpha Sections probably weren't evil back then, so it makes more sense to me now that Jade is supposedly working with them in the trailer. Hmm.....so many theories I could possibly think of.

Already posted this on the French forums, but: Boombo had the same idea as you, more or less. Which would explain the lack of verdure of her lips. :P
So originally they fought pirates, then they were seduced by the DomZ into becoming the ultimate pirates themselves? Juicy.
Also, last year, as I watched the first trailer, I got the impression that Dakini's crew was gonna (accidentally :?:) bring the DomZ into our world, while searching for "true freedom". Now I hear she's gone missing, looking for a portal. Feels like I was onto something…

I wonder if it’s also “just a coincidence” that the pilots name is Shaunie...not the exact spelling, but it gives me ideas... 8)

It's Shani. I don't know if you've seen this video where she seems to have a very similar combat style to Jade: I don't know, the whole Shauni/Shani thing feels kinda too obvious, but you never know…

Hmmmm...
Anyway I've gone back to replay my old file. I want to try and 100% this save file I have and see what I missed. So far, I see that I've missed quite a bit. :)
Hope I find everything quickly.

I managed to get it working well enough on my PC to be playable. I have the Uplay version and it even takes away the black borders by default since the game is 16:9 (usually 4:3 with the use of black borders) and it fills up my screen. I have to say it's an amazing game and I love every moment of it so far. I will get back to it soon and finish the story :)
