Re: Rayman 1 on Atari Jaguar!
It's fine, if you guys prefer me to shut up about the details of Rayman 1 for Atari Jaguar (which is the minimum I can do since I am not able to record a walkthrough) then ok.
My day didn't start well and the next days won't be good as well. --*

Don't shut up. As for Viking Mama, I thought Pirate Mama is the most accepted name for her, but this name is communicative too.

Hi there, it's Postman Comment ?, I got a delivery of sense of humour for Ms Tavares.Haruka wrote:I feel trolled and offended, seriously.

In a normal state of mood I would probably find this error unintentionally funny, but it happens that today I'm not in good mood.
I'll think in the subject. Maybe after doing the first term tests, or before with some luck. We'll see.stan423321 wrote:Don't shut up.

Oh come on, don't go all 'depressed' on us (me)! I wouldn't stand making someone depressed even more depressed!Haruka wrote:It's fine, if you guys prefer me to shut up about the details of Rayman 1 for Atari Jaguar (which is the minimum I can do since I am not able to record a walkthrough) then ok.

And why the hell does this post sound sarcastic when it's not

Congratulations Haruka, you made history! And by that I mean Comment ?'s signature.

Yeah, I think so. The quote is already in the Awesome Quotes topic.
Oh well, if Ubisoft didn't call the flying objects a Pink Ring, this sentence wouldn't be so suggestive.

Re: Rayman 1 on Atari Jaguar!
Pretend I didn't double post.
I've played the Pencil Pentathlon. The major differences are:
- Some background elements are changed.
- The last part of Pencil Pentathlon is very changed in the part that corresponds to the slippery and dangerous path (that you must not run, just walk) in the newer versions. There are less pencils, more clouds and blue rubbers.
- The cage locations are slightly different.

Space Mama's Crater:
- No thunderstorm in the part 2 of the level. Just a normal rainbow background.
- Background elements and objects almost equally placed in general
- Space Mama moves faster, but the engine-cassroles work slower
Crystal Palace:
- Background elements and objects almost equally placed in general
- The flying "stalactites" (don't know how to call these guys) act slower

The blue bouncing things?
Re: Rayman 1 on Atari Jaguar!
I think they were not changed.stan423321 wrote:The blue bouncing things?
I also played the Eat at Joe's but for some reason it is missing a cage. I tried to see if the very last one of the other versions situated in the same place but nothing happened... I must replay it.
Eat at Joe's:
- Joe does not give you the firefly. You have an Exit Sign just in the right of Joe.
- The part 2 isn't dark, which means you have full visibility of the level itself.
- The sabertooth fish attacks slower and instead of jumping in a lenght-arc, he jumps in a height-arc. It makes easier to attack him.
- There are more traps in the very end of the last part of the level.
Re: Rayman 1 on Atari Jaguar!
Mr. Skops Stalactites:
- Nothing seems changed to me, except for the fact that when you play part 2, the Exit Sign is located in an upper level, and there's a Life Statue behind it.
- Mr. Skops attacks are quicker
Mr. Dark's Dare:
- Part 1 and part 2 are completely changed.
- Part 3 is practically equal to the original version (except there are more mini-swiss-knives placed)
- Bad Rayman does not exist here.
- Two life statues are differently placed if I'm not in error
- Mr. Dark attacks Rayman more times with magic and the fire is slow.
- Mr. Dark has got a big HP bar, and when you take half for the first monster, it shows fatigue and leaves. In the second monster (the Moskito-faced one), Rayman does not shrink. Moskito-Mamas do not appear here.
- When you beat Mr. Dark, a big quantity of Electoon symbols appear and pop themselves into sparkles, and the "Well done!" words appear.
- The credits are scrolling ones in a black screen, with Rayman logo showing up first. Mr. Dark appears for a brief moment and in the end of the credits it is written "Write 1346 (?) in the presentation screen to play Ray breakout" (or something like this).
The end. I've beaten the Atari Jaguar version for the first time.

Yes, it is 1346 for sure, as it works.

Re: Rayman 1 on Atari Jaguar!
Does Mr Dark have any kind of special animation, or is it just a still picture of him against a blank background? Also, it’s pretty cool that we now have an official name for the Breakout minigame – ‘Ray Breakout’.Haruka wrote:- The credits are scrolling ones in a black screen, with Rayman logo showing up first. Re: Rayman 1 on Atari Jaguar!
If I recall (I have used a cheat to get to the Jaguar credits before, I don't think the computer I'm currently using is good enough to get to play it on an emulator that long without crashing, and I don't think I'd be able to get that far anyway ) Mr. Dark sort of flies across the screen as the 'See you Soon' message at the end of the credits appear - suggesting that in this version the message was from him as opposed to Rayman, and therefore implying some epic sequel that never happened....
Re: Rayman 1 on Atari Jaguar!
It isn't anything special. He just flies fast in diagonal while hidden in the cape while the words "See you soon!" appear.
Re: Rayman 1 on Atari Jaguar!
It most definitely implies that he got away though
