Yeah it just wastes far too much time right? :P

That's even the way I break cages, I jump and hit at the same time instead of standing there for ages charging.

When dealing with slippery platforms over death pits, usually I just jump and glide while standing in place from platform to platform. If there are moving enemies on the platforms I just jump while in place, glide, hang on the next platfrom then jump and punch the enemy. Probally the easiest way to not lose a single life in those kind of scenarios.

The pattern for when the Stone men move backwards or forward after you hit them when they're about to throw the lava rocks at you is just completely random! And in the next level I'll actually get the running power! :)
It's after the next level, actually; you still have to complete all of Mr. Stone's Peaks, including the boss fight, without it.

Yeah, I know and I forgot to mention that actually, I meant that at the end of the level I will have it.

UPDATE: Finished Mr Stone's Peaks and as a result got the running power and unlocked the first level in Picture City: Eraser Plains. I love it already! I actually find the running power in Rayman 1 to be the coolest power in it (still not as cool as the wall run power in Origins and Legends, but still really cool)! I just love the animation of Rayman running and the sound effect and animation when you stop running.

A bit off topic but i'l find a way to keep it Rayman 1 related.
I think I found a loop whole to the Article 13 thing.

So basically, if we want to upload any images or any video to Rayman PC, we wouldn't upload them to sites like Youtube or Rayman PC, instead we would upload them to a peer to peer network website like Bit Chute (there is an app too.)
So lets say I want to upload a Rayman 1 gameplay video, if I upload it to Bit Chute, a peer to peer website, the video isn't actually on Bit Chute instead it's somewhere else mentained by another source.

The new copyright directive of the single market (article 13) or what ever it is called only makes the platforms reliable for copyrighted uploads not the users. So since Bit Chute is not hosting the said copyrighted content it cannot be held liable. Let me make it clear, the new copyright law in Europe only extends to the websites, not the users.

So the Eu just made things much worse for the big copyright holders and copyright is actually now easier to break and to get away with and legal than ever before in the eu.

So all we would have to do is get the videos on there, then just copy and paste a text only hyper link that doesn't display the video on Rayman PC, it would have to link to the other peer to peer site, such as Bit Chute.

And if worst come to worst, I'll use a VPN, because it's 2019 and I'm not having crappy limited internet in 2 years when we had it all since the 00's.

Bump, I need to ask something here. I have been contributing to RayWiki regarding the Ray Breakout game on Jaguar this the past couple of days, and now I want to upload screenshots of the PC version since it varies. RayWiki states that collecting a Ting gives you an extra ball, just like it does in the Jaguar version, but in the version I'm playing, it doesn't give me anything. The levels are also completely random, I could complete a level and then get the same one again 2 levels later etc., where the Jaguar has fixed stages from 1-9. I also noticed that mine only seems to have 6 different stages, is this normal before I add anything to the Wiki about it or is my game just broken? I'm using Rayman Forever from GoG.

Just wondering basically as it says that completing it grants infinite continues, but if it's just randomly selecting levels, I don't think it can be completed really. It seems more like a "play until you get game over" type of thing to me. It definitely couldn't be if they're only giving me 3 lives anyway.

EDIT: Never mind, I seen a video from Carrot-master. After completing 6 stages it ends, but you definitely don't get an extra life for a Ting unless a certain version of the game was different.

Oh this is one mighty juicy find. I can’t help but think that the art style here looks like it *could* be by Susuma Matsushita aka the Famitsu magazine artist, but I could be wrong. And at that, I don’t think a) I ever recall Rayman 1 being on PC in Japan, and 2) the consoles had a full translation. This must have been mighty expensive when it came out and Rayman had only a little bit of a following in Japan so no wonder it’s so rare.

I guess Rayman's lack of popularity in Japan might be why this never surfaced before?

In that case, Japan doesn't know what it's missing out on. :tssk:

By the way, that dude also wrote an interesting article about this newfound Japanese version. Looks like it was localized, unlike all of the other Japanese versions of the game, which retained the English names.

It is indeed fully localized. It even includes the 3 original languages too, so Japanese is added as the fourth one.

It's a very different style, but strangely very fitting.
