The ones that struck me most as possibly reinforcing my beliefs were these:
Ly? wrote:You are the greatest hero I have ever known.
Razorbeard? wrote:Did you remember to say goodbye to Ly?
Shrooblord? Yeah, Shrooblord! wrote:Now why would it specify Ly above all other friends/companions of Rayman's? Is she special? Was this Rayman x Ly thing truly supposed to be more than an idea put into artwork but never explicitly mentioned in-game? Is there a speicifc reason Ly can communicate with Rayman telepathically, i.e. because they're so 'connected', because they are in love?
Though remember that I'm already a massive fan of the idea and as such I may be (am) biased.

That Warships picture is amazingly atmospheric. You don't even have half an idea of how happy it makes me to see that.

Oh wow, nice findings!

1st link - The advertisings are the most interesting stuff. For the first time we see a Raymanized Andy Warhol work of Ubi (and other one that I am not doing the link sadly).

2nd link - Ah, more pictures with that strange health alike system!

The picture of the road is so bizarre and surreal... And I love things like that, hence why I love Rayman 2 so much. Is that supposed to be in Rayman's world? That would only make me happier.

I kinda like the blue hue that the boxart once might have had too, as opposed to the current green one.

The one with the road is the most interesting. Reminds me of the walking shell and rollercoaster levels. Its connection to Rayman is a bit abstract though...

Seriously what the hell? I was just looking for pictures of Rayman from R3 for reference for my Christmas art submission, and I found something weird. Really weird. This may be known already, but when I first saw it my heart skipped a beat, seriously (even though it's probably well known and dumb but oh well  ).
This is the box art for Rayman 3 as it appears in every version I know of (PAL)
Image

And here is an almost identical version, but with the oddest and most unnecessary changes I've ever seen...

Image

What the actual hell? Other than the thicker black lines above the eyes and the odd facial expression/eye direction/reflection in eyes making him look completely different, some of the logos and other elements like the background are slightly shifted (Squeezed together?).
I'm so used to seeing the ordinary box art, this just game me a hell of a shock. It isn't photoshopped or anything, it's the default image for Wikipedia's article and I never even noticed it...:?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :o

I remember a rare early build screenshot that I saw as a kid showing an early version of the Heavy Metal Fist combat fatigue. I sadly nevermore saw it and I regret to not have saved it at the time...

I don't know if this has been posted anywhere before, but the French Rayman facebook page just showed this concept art:
https://scontent-b-lhr.xx.fbcdn.net/hph ... e=5509083E
Judging from the art style, it seems to be from RO (or RL), but I don't remember any of these creatures appearing in those games. Perhaps it's cut content.

Now what the heck is this one all about? Was there really to be a level themed like this originally? Doesn't seem too Rayman like to me.

@Droolie Interesting content indeed. I also can't make any link to any game but it is probably RO.

I think it's more related to the abstract nature of the artist's influences than being directly Raymanish.

It reminds me of the walking shell levels. If I had to guess I'd say it's a promotional piece that was created for a poster that would convey some of Rayman 2's design ideas and general feel in an abstract way. Maybe it was never actually used.
