Best we moved on from that dud.
The answer was Orbital Drop Shock Trooper. Granted, I'd have never guessed, but apparently it's well known in Halo fans.

Explanation: In the original ending, the enemy is Psy-crow, the hero is Earthworm JIm and the damsel is "Princess Whats-her-name".
But then one by one each of the character takes off their costume and we see that they were cows all along. Hence the final form.
