Aww that's too bad Dave, but it is totally understandable. Hosting this quiz takes a lot of energy and effort at times, especially when you're busy or when you're dealing with personal circumstances. Don't feel guilty and take your time to do whatever it is you need to do!

Said administrator here, I shall host this game for Dave! That means I will no longer be participating in answering anything myself, so I'll be stuck at one point forever for this season.
Anyway, let's get the show on the road, shall we?
Season 13
Question 11
The 1970s were an interesting time, specifically when it came to audio equipment. During this decade was a time known as the "Watt Wars" / "Receiver Wars" for home audio stereo receivers where companies begun producing stereo receivers with the most power, trying to outclass their competition.
The days of only having sub-100 watt per channel receivers choices were gone thanks to these big players in the industry.
Name at least three of these companies (brands) that participated in the Receiver Wars.

Of the three brands, two were founded in Japan, one was founded within the US.

Pirez, neither one of those are correct.
PluM, however, did get at least
one of the brands correct!
You both may try again.
Be sure to keep the clue in mind:
Clue: Of the three brands, two were founded in Japan, one was founded within the US.

Well, considering I haven't had any more guesses, I'll try to clue you guys in further.
So our first clue was this:
Of the three brands, two were founded in Japan, one was founded within the US.
A little "bonus clue":
Now, above you saw me saying one of the brands mentioned in Plum's post is correct, what I will go ahead and say is the fact the correct one mentioned is one of the two brands founded in Japan that I'm looking for.
Second Clue:
1.) The brand that was founded in the US, merged with a competitor that was founded in Japan, which makes mid to high-end audio and home theater equipment today, with both the original company brand founded in the US and the brand founded in Japan. While I'm not looking for the Japanese company for this one, this will serve as a clue. Especially when you may often see "Company Name A" & "Company Name B" listed together.
2.) The first Japanese brand I'm looking for was also known for a home video format that offered superior quality and resolution over what we had in the 1980s ~ 1990s, in fact, they even had a hand in one of the home video formats we've commonly used through the 2000s and onward. They still make electronic such as home audio and home theater equipment as well.
3.) The second Japanese brand once made outstanding audio equipment back in the day, but they no longer do so today. The company has long since been defunct since 2014, but Grande Holdings has the rights to license the name outside Japan for budget-friendly electronics.
