I'm not surprised that this board game is based on Rayman Legends only, remember that the game came out 7 years ago and I have even seen people calling it a nostalgic game (this makes me feel old despite I am in my 20s lol).
Rayman Legends is also the last main Rayman game and is still selling well, so this game likely is the best-known one of the Rayman series if we count both new and old fans who would purchase Rayman merch.

Is it not 10 rather than 7 years old, though?

It's pretty much 11 at this point, it's a 2013 game.
Yeah, that's another disappointing thing about this board game and after Legends has been recycled a billion times already, but this had to be expected...
I'm still very sad to see the old series being pretty much erased, but I don't mind that much as long as it's for a simple goodie like a board game... The old games already had plenty of toys/figures and a few other goodies after all at least, so UbiArt fans get to really eat something nice there for once (it just sucks that we pretty much cannot get the old ones any more due to rarity and prices nowadays

).
Anyway, even if it had the old characters, I'm not getting into that board game until we have confirmation that the project is trustworthy enough unlike the scummy/incompetent practices we witnessed with other Kickstarter board games.

The problem is, it's hard to know how good a board game is without trying it! But you should be able to rely on some various tests and opinions, I suppose.

I assume he’s thinking about the definitive edition?…

First we got a Rayman YouTooz figure, then we got Rayman DLC in Sparks of Hope, then Rayman appeared in Captain Laserhawk and now we have a board game. Ubisoft HAS to be working on a new Rayman game. Why else would they be pushing Rayman so hard for the first time in a decade?

Oops sorry you're right!
I knew that it was 10 years ago but I googled it up to make sure I was right and the first release date shown in the search results was the one for the Switch port, sorry!

Thank you, I have the impression that everyone forgets that UbiArt fans exist

Don't get me wrong, it's only fair that UbiArt games get their share of goodies! All I'm saying is, if you're going to ignore every single element in the series besides those in Rayman Legends, then just call the board game Rayman Legends already.

To be honest, it’s probably for the best that the figures are exclusively rayman legends, as, many people haven’t heard of the other games, especially the main trilogy

Then let's remove all of those characters and replace them with Rabbids since they're obviously much more famous and popular than Rayman Legends.

Nah, screw that and replace them with Santa, Batman, Spider man and the Easter bunny so more people knwo the characters!

Make them chocolate so people eat them and need to buy more

At that point Ubisoft might as well just create rayman chocolate

I would like some Rayman chocolate

Yum, I’ve got some flavour ideas!
Globox berry (a mix of blueberries, blackberries and raspberries)
Begoniax’s stew (a mixture of cookies and crème, and caramel)
The king of the teensies (white chocolate with caramel chunks)
(Actually thinking of it, we could make a new topic for rayman-inspired chocolate ideas!)

You really know what you're doing

Those are great ideas!

If we're gonna have Rayman-inspired flavors, we definitely gotta have some plums tho!
We could have:
-Livingstone Prune (the plum flavor, as a reference to Livingstones having their heads stuck in them)
-Betilla's Cornucopia (mixture of fruits matching her colors)
-Bzzit/Moskito's Nectar (mix of honey and raspberry/cranberry)
-Uglette Strawberry (white chocolate and strawberry, an idea I got from a brand of ice cream I saw recently)
-Jano's Treasure (could be lemon and lime jelly)
-Tily's Vomit

(yes, like the Harry Potter beans

)
And obviously, pretty much anything that could go with Edith Up's food theme!
Imagine an official plum juice barrel, too!...
Though, we should get back to the Board Game topic now, guys!

Murfy will also be included.
Initially I didn't really care too much, but I have to admit that having a Rayman collectible for the first time is making me consider buying it
