Origis with its....wtf kind of story kinda would make sense to not be canon
I - from the bottom of my heart - hope it's not canon. It doesn't really makes sense, and also takes away from the mysterious origin of the character...
What part of it takes away from the mysterious origin of the character? I think only the trailer showed that scene with Betilla creating Rayman, not the game itself.
I meant those extra stories from the PS Vita version I think, where we learn how Rayman got his hair and stuff. I though it was a bit out of nowhere, and didn't really like it.

That was only in the Vita version so it probably isn't canon.

It's been concluded in previous discussions that those stories aren't meant to be taken literally. The style of the imagery, along with the tone of the wording in the (unfortunately scrapped) subtitles, are more fitting of "campfire tales", made up to amuse children.

It's pretty inconsistent indeed, though considering the UbiArt games as part of a different timeline like Lil_DRE suggested makes it much better already. I hope Rayman 4 (if it's ever released

) follows straight on Rayman 3, ignoring the rest.

If we were to go by the Origins logic on PlayStation Vita, then who says this isn't canon.
It's really hard to view Rayman games as canonical, but it's always interesting that people can be creative and come up with their own theories.

Yeah, I'm not sure if there really is such a thing as canon in Rayman's universe.

It's a series. I really couldn't tell you what games are canon. I mean it changed from 3D to 2D. I think a lot of them might be canon after thinking about it. In Brawlhalla, it says something like this for Globox's description (and with quoting it somewhat as I can from memory) he's Rayman's faithful friend, but not when the Robo-Pirates are around or something like that. I feel like Rayman 2 and stuff were Rayman's past adventures. Some plot points might not be canon related to the rest of the series, but I feel like the games sort of did happen at least for the most part. Like the mainline games and Rabbids and Rabbids: TV Party. The handheld ones seem less canon and Rabbids 2 I'm not sure about as much for some reason.
Rayman's camera just so happens to be in this topic.

Well with the Street Fighter trailer for Brawlhalla showing Rayman off at full size. I now want to know if Brawlhalla takes place before or after Rayman Mini. This information is very important to me.

I'm still inclined to take the original trilogy and the UbiArt games as canon, and also the Rabbid trilogy. I can't say I enjoy the Rabbid trilogy (never even played 2 or 3), but technically there's nothing stopping it being canon. Sabertooth had a nice essay a few years ago explaining how it could be so…

If only they had stuck with making Origins a prequel, then maybe I could be more inclined to believe them all as canon. That being said, I think they are canon to different timelines, the first 3 with the original timeline, and the Ubiart games as the Ubiart timeline.

Well, if they'd made Origins a prequel it could have screwed up a lot of things, removing the mystery of Rayman's background as someone was saying before. I think it slots in relatively painlessly as a sequel…

That could be true. It's too bad the way Origins came out now gave us the misfortune of at least 7 more games with the same style (counting mobile games).

They're not all exactly the same style, the "oil painting" look came in from Legends. But yeah, the relative homogeneity is at odds with the diversity that came before…

I prefer to think not. There are too many problems with it, notably the inclusion of Grolem 13.

Ya your right the only thing that I really liked about it was boss bidtank but that was only because it was a new boss fight against the spy glass pirate .

And let's not get started on "Beneath the Lava Sanctuary".
