It's probably issue with your PC. Dolphin does not work best with older PC's. What are your specs?

This is actually a known issue with Dolphin and the only way around it is to tap A repeatedly as it loads.

Oh, I actually forgot on which level was that but that issue was known to me
My apologies HardApple, you should just do what Cairnie said

That problem is known for few years already and I even reported it to the Dolphin team but it seems that they are more focused in making Nintendo-exclusive games work properly for now.
As for the solution, do what Cairnie said. I've noticed that you must do it good at first attempt after booting the game in the emulator, otherwise it will always freeze so you are forced to close the emulator and bring it on again.
Please try it out.

After trying Cairnie's solution about 20 times, I managed to get the A button trick to work (75% of my attempts completely failed).
What I found works best is if you start tapping the A button RIGHT AFTER you select the level, skipping Murfy's cutscene completely. If you let Murfy's cutscene play for more than a second, it's probably going to freeze. I also strongly recommend you make a savestate on the map selection menu (shift + F1) and load it (F1) if the trick doesn't work.
Now to sue the pants off of this forum for giving me carpal tunnel.
