When I created article for Captain Laserhawk, one of the reasons I didnt go much farther than a stub was because of many of these questions. I've thought about it for the last few days.
Firstly, usually the way Netflix's animation works is that they commission an order of episodes that they then split up into two "seasons." They do this so that they can get 2 content drops without dealing with the pay raises that would come with commissioning a real second season of animated television. We have no evidence they did this with Laserhawk until they announce a second "season," but it's so common with them and the first season is so short that I would absolutely assume another 6 episodes are coming. So any decision you make should keep this in mind.
I think the second question to grapple with would be how much coverage of the series is within the scope of the wiki. If the show truly pops off there would be an audience for an encompassing wiki, and Rayman-PC would actually be in a good spot to provide a space for that as opposed to yet another garbage Fandom.Com wiki. Even then, it doesnt mean the RayWiki is a good place to contain it compared to a sister wiki, or perhaps
namespaces-
The Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages for example uses namespaces to separate the content for each Elder Scrolls game. Luckily, I don't think you have to make this decision yet. People seem to really like the show but it's still too nascent for an obsessive following to form around it.
So for now, what should the wiki cover? Assuming you want a middle ground between minimal coverage and dedicated coverage, here is what I propose:
- This interpretation of Rayman is iconic and a distinct identity from the games. You should consider giving him his own article, "Ramon" or "Rayman (Captain Laserhawk)". The section in the main Rayman article can be a brief summary with a link to the main article. This would help keep 18+ content out of the main Rayman article.
- On Wikipedia, Important Series will have separate articles for each season, and these articles will contain reasonably detailed episode guides. An example is Season 1 of
Better Call Saul. I think that this format could be copied for the season 1 content in the main article, and then split out like this if/when the series has released a second season. So instead of having articles for each episode, you could have articles for each season and still have detailed synopses.
- Now, for the characters, you could dedicate an entire article to listing them. For example, Wikipedia's
list of Dragon Ball characters. You can see it's comprehensive and detailed, and major characters that warrant extra coverage have articles linked. If you decide you want the wiki to have a deeper coverage of the show, these could be easily split out as stubs.
- Lastly, the creative side. Adi Shankar, as the creator and one of the lead writers, should probably have an article. Balak, the creative director, may be warranted as well. Bobbypills, the studio, should probably have one; however, most of their output is "adults only" featuring overt sexual content, so writing an article for them will be interesting. David Menken, Rayman's voice actor, should absolutely have one. It might be worth doing a deep dive into the rest of the creative team- for example, all 6 episodes of season 1 were directed by Mehdi Leffad who has no Wikipedia article, but could perhaps be worth covering in a more niche context.
Take all this with a grain of salt, I just thought I'd thor my two cents in. Hope you all have a great day.
