A crab is a small crustacean that is only found on the beaches and other aquatic areas of Rayman 2. They are yellow-orange in colour, and they hurt Rayman if he touches them, but even at the maximum power of his magic fist, he cannot destroy them. Hitting them will only cause them to fly up briefly before landing, like a rat in Rayman 3. This also applies to shots from Robo-Pirates.

In the original Rayman game, a type of a crab appears with Space Mama in the credits.

In Rayman 2, crabs can be found in the Sanctuary of Water and Ice and Whale Bay. In the PlayStation version of the game, two other crabs are oddly present in pirate strongholds in the Echoing Caves. In Rayman Revolution, they can additionally be found at the Pier in the Minisaurus Plains, the first part of the Front. In Rayman 2 Forever they reappear as enemies.

In Rayman 3 and Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge, a more powerful variety of crab enemies known as Ninja Crabs appear.

In Rayman Origins, a rare variety of large crabs, the Ocean Spiders, are enemies in the Sea of Serendipity and the Angsty Abyss. These can be seen both underwater and out of water.

A variety of crab is briefly glimpsed during the credits of the original game.
Crabs look different in the Japanese version of Rayman Revolution.
