"Group theropy? Groovy! I totally dig those! Wow!"

Romeo is the second Teensie Doctor Globox has to see in Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc. He talks like a hippy or a surfer, and unlike the other Teensie doctors, he wears an orange beanie hat and has long purple hair, as well as wearing the stereotypical hippy sunglasses. His office is located in the Land of the Livid Dead. He attempts to treat Globox there by drumming on his stomach, which also fails to remove André, so he has to refer him to the last Teensie Doctor, Gonzo (Art Rytus) in the Desert of the Knaaren.

He appears twice more, once in the Desert of the Knaaren, when he Otto and Gonzo perform group theropy and finally free André. When André and Reflux steal the Leptys of the Knaaren from Gumsi, Romeo appears with the other Doctors to instruct Rayman and Globox to take The Longest Shortcut to find them. He appears at the end of the aforementioned level, once again with Otto and Gonzo, to tell the duo that Reflux and André have escaped.

Appearances

Pre-appearance

When Globox swallows Andre, Rayman and Globox travel to Clearleaf Forest to find Doctor Otto, who they believe may be able to get Andre out of there. Romeo is first mentioned here by Otto, who calls him a "stomach specialist" and a "very good doctor". He then activates the portal which allows Rayman and Globox to move on.

On the way to The Land of the Livid Dead, to meat Romeo, Rayman and Globox are seperated, landing in The Bog of Murk. The entire aim of that world is for Rayman to find Globox and then leave so that they can meet Romeo. At the very end of the world, after Count Razoff is defeated, Globox mentions Romeo again, asking Rayman "How are we going to get to the doctor's?"

First meeting with Rayman and Globox - The Land of the Livid Dead

Romeo finally appears when Rayman and Globox reach his office in The Land of the Livid Dead. When they arrive, some Hoodlums have invaded the office, as with the other two doctor's, and Rayman must use the Rocket Fist to power up to defeat them, as he cannot physically reach Romeo until he does. After the hoodlums are beaten, Rayman continues onwards, however, Globox refuses to go as he has grown wary of Teensie doctors after suffering at the hands of Otto. However, more hoodlums arrive, and Globox follows Rayman out of fear.

Romeo starts with a joke, commenting that Globox is "still in bed? Well, must have been a late night!", in reference to the fact that Globox is on the operating table. Romeo is already of Globox's predicament, as Otto has explained it to him. it is here that Romeo reveals his knowledge of Black Lums "Black Lums reproduce like some kinda crazy wave! They're really wacky". This is relevant later, when Andre uses Reflux's septor to reproduce many Black Lums, and may also explain how the Black Lum army multiplied so quickly. Romeo then proceeds to use Globox's belly as a drum, which causes Andre to vacate Globox's stomach and enter his brain, which Romeo cannot find. He then opens up another portal, telling Rayman and Globox to visit "a specialist in hollow cavaties" in The Desert of the Knaaren. He then announces that he has to go and water his plants.

Group therapy - The Desert of the Knaaren

At the Desert of the Knaaren, Rayman and Globox meet the specialist Romeo was talking about, Doctor Gonzo. Gonzo realises that he cannot get Andre out of Globox's stomach alone, so he calls upon Romeo and Otto to help, and the three doctors are first seen together. Together, the three manage to free Andre, who promptly escapes. Romeo reacts quite calm to this, commenting on how fast Andre was.

The new threat - The Longest Shortcut

Romeo goes with the other doctors, Rayman, and Globox to show the two heroes the "shortcut". There, the three doctors explain that Reflux and Andre have joined forces to get revenge on Rayman, and have stolen Gumsi's septor. Romeo tells Rayman that they plan to use the septor to gain "unimaginable powers!" Along with the other three doctors, he seems to believe that the shortcut will help Rayman and Globox reach Andre and Reflux, although it does not appear to help at all. He then leaves with Otto and Gonzo.

Final appearance

Romeo makes a breif appearance, again with Otto and Gonzo, at the end of The Longest Shortcut. He helps explain, somewhat unsympathetically, to Rayman and Globox that Reflux and Andre have escaped. Romeo theorises that "The whole world's gonna go up in smoke dude!" The three doctor's give the two heroes a boat, with which to chase the villianous duo. Romeo is not seen again in this game.

Small cameo

In the game Hoodlum's Revenge, a GBA sequal to Rayman 3, Romeo makes a very breif appearance, the only one of the three doctor's to do so. He first appears to Rayman near the begining of the game, and explains to Rayman that Globox has been thrown into jail, although has no idea why. Curiously, Rayman does not appear to recognise him here, despite very obvious interaction in Rayman 3. Also, Romeo gives his name as "Doc" not Romeo. Nevertheless, he appears again a few levels later, where he gives Rayman a boat with which to travel through a swamp. He does not reappear, and this is his latest appearance to date. He is mentioned once more in Hoodlum's Revenge however, when Rayman and Globox question how to escape from Begonix's swamp. Andre, possessing Globox, threatens to push Rayman "off the dock" which causes Rayman to think "Doc" and go in search of a boat.

Trivia

  • In the English Version of Rayman 3, he is the only Doctor to be speaking his native language, having a typically American surfer accent in contrast to Otto's German and Gonzo's Japanease.
