:Good point, but it would be the same thing as moving the Pink Plant Woods to the Primordial Forest, since it is the level's original name in French and yet mentioned in RO's trailer. I also like more "The Crossroads of Dreams" than the current name. I approve the suggestion, now it depends also from the others. --Haruka 22:26, 23 February 2011 (UTC)

Name change

I think that we should move The Glade of Dreams to The Crossroads of Dreams, and I offer the following reasons to support this change:

 • In the official material surrounding the French release of Rayman 2, the world was referred to as 'La Croisée des Rêves', which translates as 'The Crossroads of Dreams'. This means that 'The Crossroads of Dreams' was the original name created by the game's developers. The name 'The Glade of Dreams' is therefore a creation of the game's English-language localisation team.
 • In the official material surrounding Rayman 3, the world is referred to as 'The Crossroads of Dreams'. This means that the name used in the localised Rayman 2 is not intended as a permanent, official translation – it was a one-off. They used the name 'The Glade of Dreams' once, but judging by Rayman 3, they show no signs of using it again. It seems that they now regret that inaccurate name-change and are attempting to retract it. It will only cause confusion in the future if the wiki sticks to that once-off, false translation.
 • I think 'The Crossroads of Dreams' is simply a much better name. The choice of the metaphorical term 'Crossroads' has untold significance and potential interpretations, whereas the term 'Glade' makes no sense at all – it means 'a clearing in a forest', which the official map clearly demonstrates in an incorrect description. The localisation team probably changed the name because they though 'Glade' sounded cooler than 'Crossroads', and in the process they completely destroyed whatever meaning the developers had in mind when they decided to name Rayman's world.

The only reason I have not already moved the page is that it's quite a big deal – this is a very important and popular page, and is linked to more than most. However, this is all the more reason why we should do our best to get it right. It will take some getting used to, and the myriad links to 'The Glade of Dreams' will have to be corrected, but I think it is a necessary change to make.
