I begin to see this is not the only situation where people have to advance their cash before products are developed and shipped and it's taking forever for those backers to have their products at their hands. I didn't know the Kickstarter Exclusives got available for other people too but perhaps if they wanted to change their mind, they could have at least created a bigger time interval between the availability of those said products so early backers would be less upset about that? Or they could have thought better on the subject before announcing them as exclusive items, especially in a reality where Rayman fans have been looking to the walls for many years without actual merchandising that's not exclusive to game fair events.Hunchman801 wrote: Sat Jun 13, 2026 10:51 am For what it's worth, a Flyos rep addressed the issue a couple days ago:
Belou wrote: Hello @everyone,
We’ve been closely reading your feedback since the launch of our new direct sales platform. We hear your concerns regarding the pricing and the presence of Kickstarter exclusives on the store, and we want to clear the air and be completely transparent with you.
Concerning the store pricing:
First of all, a massive THANK YOU for spotting this. Our website is currently in a Soft Launch phase. This is precisely why we rely on our day-one community's sharp eyes to catch these things. The current prices are actively being adjusted on the backend. Our philosophy has not changed: we absolutely want the best deal to always belong to our original backers. Thank you for your patience while we finalize the price tiers.
Concerning the Kickstarter Exclusives:
We completely understand why this caused some concern, and we want to share the two major reasons behind this choice:
Massive demand: Since the campaign wrapped up, we've received countless messages from players who discovered the project too late and were deeply hoping to get their hands on this content.
The economic reality: The geopolitical context over the last two years has caused an unpredictable explosion in the costs of raw materials, freight, and production molds. Offering these items on our store is a difficult but necessary strategic decision to help us absorb these massive cost increases, ensure we don't operate at a loss, and bring joy to latecomers in the community.
We are fine-tuning the store right now thanks to your feedback. Thank you again for being the pillar of this project and for helping us make the launch of FLYOS 2.0 as smooth as possible.
The team is here if you have any further questions!
I won't quote the company's name here, but I'm going through a similar situation where myself, and many other people, pre-ordered what they wanted an year and half already and we're all still waiting for everything to reach us. One of their arguments for the delay was also the geopolitical context and how that affected production of some items. While I understand this, I can't blame some people to start to lose their patience over a long wait when everyone paid upfront in the original time window they asked... I counted at least four delays and there's probably a fifth coming as I still don't have knowledge of anyone having received the first tracking codes this month.

Gosh, it's true! I still think that Droolie had one of the most creative and interesting illustrations.Hunchman801 wrote: Sat Jun 13, 2026 11:01 am Actually, since Haruka mentioned her contest entry, you can see it here.
Man, did we get a lot of participation back in the days...
If I were to remake that illustration I did, it would look so much better today both in the lineart, the composition and especially the colour. I was still figuring out how to deal with watercolours at the time!

I still believe that if it weren't for the whole team being forced to launch the game in 1999, we could have an even more polished game and perhaps having actual four different guardians and a forth Sanctuary. They still managed to pull out what's still in my opinion the best title in the series. Rayman 2 is a name I still consistently quote as having one of the most beautiful art directions for a videogame, an experience all platformer-genre fans have to try out at least once. The texture artists managed to give much life to the game in an era where 3D modeling had still its limitations. Not many games managed to provide the same result back then.Hunchman801 wrote: Sat Jun 13, 2026 11:10 am Even the original Rayman 2 isn't very consistent in that regard, probably because they had to rush its development. Either all four guardians (because there should have been four) should share the same design, or they should all have a different one, but this strange mix doesn't make a lot of sense. That doesn't prevent Rayman 2 from being a great game, but nobody's perfect, I guess!

I think you're completely right about this, and it was probably never the intention for even Rayman to be his own species back then. I believe the concept was only introduced in Rayman 2, and the original game is a bit of an outlier in that regard anyway.Droolie wrote: Sat Jun 13, 2026 3:11 am I partly agree with you RayGamer99 - I also think many people took the limbless aspect of Rayman 1's NPCs a bit too literally. They're all just humans drawn in a quirky art style. Even Rayman himself, perhaps.
As for RayGamer's points, I can certainly agree about all those human tropes in the original trilogy, and especially in Rayman 3. However, the main difference for me is that they were just references here and there, while in Legends, they became the very universe the game takes place in. They are way more prominent, and also way more generic (the Shrek example is a pretty good one). That's a major shift for me, which I believe explains why Legends feels so out of place to so many people.

Yeah, I also don't think Leguizamo was a good fit for Globox, like I said here a while ago.Haruka wrote: Fri Jun 12, 2026 4:53 pm I'm actually relieved that Leguizamo wasn't called back for Retold. I always think about Ice Age's Sid when I listen to the English R3 Globox, a real marketing move at the time for the North American audience. It's mostly because of him I've been playing R3 in French since the beginning of last decade.
Even the original Rayman 2 isn't very consistent in that regard, probably because they had to rush its development. Foutch has the same topology of Axel but he was still distinct wih the face, colours and the fire abilities. I like to think that instead of a third pyramid-head character there could be a whole new design, or maybe one identical to Umber but more steel alike, given the location of the mask? I'm remembering how Rocky from R3GBA/N-Gage is very similar to Axel/Foutch and wears a steel bucket, but he doesn't seem to be able to do anything else other than hitting around and causing earthquakes to bring out fire from the soil.

As announced during Rayman Alive, the yearly community event showcasing fan projects, we are proud to announce the launch of Rayfanpedia, the wiki for Rayman fanworks!
The talent and creativity of the Rayman community are quite outstanding, and the aim of this project is to document them as thoroughly and extensively as possible. Whether you're looking to read about the great projects fans are working on, or to write about your own, Rayfanpedia is the place for this!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank dr_st and Rayman Saturn, who initially posited the ideas that evolved into Rayfanpedia, created most of its content as of today and accepted to become its benevolent dictators. I must also thank Hoodcom and Elite Piranha, the architects of Rayfanpedia's visual identity, without whom the site would have looked no different from a million others. Special thanks go to Unheard, Rayman Universe and Adsolution, for being early editors and writing about their wonderful projects, and Pirate-Community's moderating team for their support and advice.
I hope you will take as much pleasure browsing and contributing to this project as we had creating it. The floor is yours now!

In May I was invited to a community workshop at Ubisoft Milan to playtest Rayman in the Phantom Show. I would like to thank Ubisoft Milan, Davide and the development team for inviting me to the studio. The whole experience was simply quite magical.
The team has worked so hard. To witness the creative processes behind the game development was fascinating. From my experience I wholeheartedly would love to see Ubisoft Milan work on Rayman again in the future.
I can't wait for you all to play the game. So much work has been put into this brand new Rayman adventure. From my experience of visiting the studio you seriously got a sense of how much love the studio has for Rayman.
On behalf of ItzalDrake, I am honored to deliver a personal message from Davide Soliani to the whole community ahead of Rayman in the Phantom Show:

For all of us at Ubisoft Milan who worked on DLC 3, it was a dream come true to be able to bring Rayman back into the Mario + Rabbids universe because Rayman is the first game I made when I joined Ubisoft in 1999.
There I worked on Rayman for GameBoy Color, Rayman's movements, and at the time the designers didn't only make the game structure and the rules but also the levels, so I learned to make my first levels, exploit the limitations of the console and memory limitations and for me so it was a dream to be able to bring back in Rayman in the Phantom Show DLC.
So I hope that the community and all Rayman players support us as much as possible because I'm on a mission: my mission is to be able to bring Rayman back to the glory he deserves.
Among other things, in the DLC there is a secret hidden message that players who will 100% complete the DLC can read!
So I hope for your support and I hope you like it!
