I can't believe we've never documented this vital information on such a sex-focused forum, so here we go

I've realized I'm gay as hell... but still kind of asexual too. Girls are amazing and I love them, but the thought of getting too intimate really, really, REALLY makes me uncomfortable and sick. It'd be wonderful to have a girlfriend who respects that, but being in a relationship is very far from being my number one goal in life. I still strongly value platonic friendships over love and always will. I'm open and honest about being only into girls, because in a civilized community people will just go "oh" and move on with their lives rather than making a big deal out of it.

Personally I think "coming out" is such an uncomfortable concept. I wouldn't ever want to sit someone down and go "Alright, this is serious...", it's a completely casual thing to me and the only reason I wouldn't be able to just bring it up casually is because I'm doubting they'll treat it that way. I guess with parents of today it's inevitable, but I really hope future generations aren't going to have parents needing to "come to terms and accept" that their presumption of their kid being straight wasn't true.

And I especially hope we can get there with the spectrum as a whole, gay folks are obviously getting a lot more ordinary today, but when you bring bisexuality or asexuality to the table people get confused and hostile all over again.

Luckily my parents have always been more left leaning and not right wing nutjobs, but they're still pretty damn heteronormative. Always bragging about how I'm going to marry a guy and all that. I just casually correct them and add that it's most likely going to be a girl. They sometimes tell me I'm making them "uncomfortable" with the thought, but I don't even give the slightest damn because I'm obviously the one who knows a little more about who I am and how I feel.

Before I comment on that: I don't have anything against gay people - in fact, since I'm straight, I don't see why girls would be heterosexual instead of being into other girls - so don't think I'm trying to offend anyone.

Being gay is, in my eyes, far from being a casual thing. I believe that every living being exists to - among other things - reproduce and prevent their species from going extinct. That's the way of nature, and being gay goes against that (seeing how you normally need a male and a female to make kids) and is therefore, technically speaking, "unnatural". Now a lot of people use that as an insult, which is stupid, but if we just look at the sentence "Being gay is unnatural.", then that's not all that wrong. Again, I personally could care less about other people's love lifes, but I get where other's uncomfortability on the topic comes from. People don't like things that are out of the ordinary, and homosexuality falls into that category. That's why I think that this will not change in the future either, parents will always have to come to terms with their child "being different".

If every living being exists to reproduce, then what about those who want children but can't due to infertility? Is that unnatural? Why do some people keep making babies, yet still abandon them when they realize they can't raise one? So many orphans are still without a home and a family to love and take care of them. Sometimes that family happens to be a gay couple that ends up adopting them. Earth is way too overpopulated and humankind isn't gonna go extinct any time soon just because some decide they want to live a life without children.

I believe that I can work to change attitudes and create a little more tolerant society rather than just sit around and do nothing. It's not easy, but things don't have to stay the same.

Medical Assisted Procreation or adoption.
GNineify wrote: Why do some people keep making babies, yet still abandon them when they realize they can't raise one?
There is many reasons, unwitting pregnancy, financial problems, or family problems, it is hard to be prepared to have a child, and in some situation, rather than destroying a child's life, you can give him a chance to have a stable family, there is another thing people do here, but it is so inhuman that I won't even tell it.

But you can't, as you can't prevent the sun of rising, or the rain to fall, I don't longer trust humans, most of them are weak and corrupted.
The human cause is lost, hopeless, and not even the apocalypse could change that.

No, that's a genetic disorder. And while we humans have incredible medical possiblities to get around things like that, normally, that "line" would just go extinct. A lot of gay people probably DO have the ability to reproduce though. So unless you're trying to say that infertile people have no reason not to be gay, I don't see your point, to be honest.
GNineify wrote: Why do some people keep making babies, yet still abandon them when they realize they can't raise one?
If someone abandons their child, most of the time it's because of financial problems. Humankind, over the past few thousand years, has developped a "money-makes-the-world-go-round"-Mindest, so you can blame that on society. My initial point remains valid though; people DO have the desire to have children, it's just that they decide not to raise them, whatever the reason may be. Honestly, I don't see how this relates to the topic of homosexuality, but okay. ;)
GNineify wrote: Earth is way too overpopulated and humankind isn't gonna go extinct any time soon just because some decide they want to live a life without children.
Are you implying that homosexuality is "nature's measurement" against overpopulation? That'd be quite an interesting theory.

You're talking to a regular visitor to the R3-Scores-Topic here, trust me, it's not that easy. :P

Okay, my sayings can become super garbled and confused because I'm thinking of 3 different things at the same time. I don't know what exactly I was trying to do. Sorry. I'm gonna try again and keep things simple. Homophobia is bad and people who aren't like you are still people. And kids shouldn't be dwelling on cynical thoughts all the time, because even if doomsday was tomorrow, a small donation to an organization can still mean a lot.

I think that's better.

Oh, okay then. I'm not homophobic, it's just that I can kind of see why people would be. Like I said, many people are afraid of/uncomfortable with things out of the ordinary. I guess that's all there's to it, people often just don't know how to deal with the topic.

What's with pansexual being an option? From what I understand after reading the Wikipedia article it's just being bisexual with certain views regarding gender, those views being completely unrelated to sexuality itself.

Also, there should be an “I'm not gay except with Raylex” option. :hinhin:

More like cliched as hell.

Bisexuals are only attracted to two genders (male or female), while pansexuals are also attracted to those who don't identify as either.
