Rayman 3D Fan Game
#Update 3
Hello again.
I'm happy to announce that the Hood Mongers are fully functional! A playable demo is coming 'very' soon ~
#Update 2
Hey everyone!
Here with a new update on the project. I've been working on curve ball attacks, as well as the basic enemy movement behaviour. More info on what I've been working on can be seen in this short update video!
# Update 1
Hey all!
I'm Laura, new to this forum. Made an account because I thought this would be the appropriate place to show off something I've been working on.
For the past three days I've been working on a little 3D Rayman fan game, and because I'm actually pretty happy with the results I might turn it into a fully fledged project. All of the assets in the project are custom made by me.
I'll be making a public test build sometime soon for you all to play around with, but for now I'll share this little preview video of the current progress.

Here's an update to the project!
Worked on some basic combat stuff today. The strafing, lock-on and damage systems are all done. Enemy behaviour is up next ~

Re: Rayman 3D Fan Game
Looking fun! The jump mechanics are bit slow for a Rayman game, though.
Re: Rayman 3D Fan Game
I dig those models and your art style! Good job so far!
Also, the objects like the mushrooms are pretty on point with The Fairy Council level from Rayman 3, if that was what you were going for, and adding those little yellow particle effects is a nice touch to the same particles that light up the mushrooms in R3 as well.

Nice! I'd like to see what could become of this project.
Re: Rayman 3D Fan Game
Thanks! And thanks for pointing that out! I'll be looking into it and see if I can improve it to get a bit closer to the original gamesHunchman801 wrote: Fri May 22, 2020 3:01 pm Looking fun! The jump mechanics are bit slow for a Rayman game, though.![]()
Thanks! Yes, definitely took a lot of inspiration from that level. I absolutely love the atmosphere of it.Aaron wrote: Fri May 22, 2020 3:09 pm I dig those models and your art style! Good job so far!

The main thing is you're having fun with the project too. I think it's looking really nice!

Re: Rayman 3D Fan Game
It looks great, btw do you plan to recreate other types of Hoodlums aside from the Hoodmonger?
Re: Rayman 3D Fan Game
Thanks ~ There sure are plans for that yes. I'm currently working on writing a narrative for the game, which will combine enemies from both Rayman 2 and 3 in a very special wayElite Piranha wrote: Thu May 28, 2020 12:08 am It looks great, btw do you plan to recreate other types of Hoodlums aside from the Hoodmonger?

Re: Rayman 3D Fan Game
Thanks for replying! It would be great if you can include one of the scrapped hoodlums in your game (like a cagoulette or the siamese hoodlum). I'm looking forward to the next updateLauraMoon wrote: Mon Jun 01, 2020 9:23 pmThanks ~ There sure are plans for that yes. I have yet to find the proper way to introduce the community to this narrative, but I'm thinking of slowly integrating it into the playable demo once it becomes available.
