Payman wrote:I'm proud my dedication paid off to reclaim this WR. World 1 was pretty decent even when I had to get rid of my bad mindset I had from one of the previous runs. World 2 was bad I lost 20 seconds to Jano and died on Prickly Passage revisit from a bad loop skip pixel. World 3 was good, aside from a small death in Mega Havoc 3. Finally, World 4 was pretty good even with some small nerves going for the optimal strats in Razor Slide, Mega Havoc 4, and Lum Challenge, unfortunately I lost some time and 1:21:xx to Final Boss RNG.
Congratulations on reclaiming the world record, Payman! It's evident that your dedication and hard work paid off. It's a really strong run, especially for Pirate Stronghold.

Payman wrote:WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY, I am so close to 58 in this game. Worlds 1 and 2 were pretty good. World 3 was okay but I did lose some time in the first 2 levels of the world, also I could've done some faster strats in other levels. World 4 was bad, I died in Creeping Chaos section 1 to missing a damage boost and Razor Slide section 1 to messing up an A press, also Final Boss RNG strikes again giving me a terrible seed that costed me 58.

Payman wrote:World 1 was good aside from some movement and textbox mistakes. World 2 lost some time in Void of Bones and Prickly Passage by still maintained a decent pace. World 3 was great with adding some more optimal movement here and there. World 4 was really good, aside from some hiccups in Boss 4, Mettleworks, and Final Boss RNG. This can still be improved by 10ish seconds but right now I'm taking a small break from the game and moving onto others.

World 3 was alright, except for Underlands 2 lost about 15ish seconds to shenanigans. Revisiting world 2 was bad, I died in Prickly Passage revisit and lost about 30s. World 4 was meh, I played it safe on some levels, had a bad boss 4, got scammed from a cage in Razor Slide, and got bad RNG on the Final Boss bombs as usual. Overall, this run show the potential of how far 100% can be pushed to its limits and I plan to grind more of this in the future.

GG! Reading all these World 1, World 2, World 3 and so on, I thought I was gonna watch a Mario speedrun.
Yeah, I think Fiesta Run is the only Rayman game not to have properly named worlds, even though they're not clearly delimited and instead inferred from the game files' folder structure. Thankfully, it's not the case for Rayman 3 on the Game Boy Advance.

I do find how worlds work in fiesta run very odd, it took me a while for me to process it
Anyway, I’ve said this on almost every other speedrun topic, but I could actually upload a run here!
Good question. But I'm glad it is. Because looking at the three runs, it becomes obvious that the game runs at different speeds for all runners. Just compare the third and second, then the second and first place as soon as they land on the floating flowers in Level 6. The game runs faster for the second place and way faster for the first place.
I'll create a new forum thread on src and try to investigate a little.
Edit: I've tested out many different variants by now. They have different FPS caps: 13, 17/18, 23, 25, 29, 31/32, 33, 39/40, 40, 50, uncapped. So it makes sense that the game runs at different speeds for different runners. As of now, there are no rules regarding which variant is fine to use. To me, the 25 FPS variants felt best. On the other hand, I hope that at least the uncapped variants will end up being banned for emu, moving forward.
