< heard about about hurricane Melissa in Jamaica. Feck that, 295km/h winds, and now down to 240km/h. Last year when Ireland got the red alert wind warning, the strongest recorded gust was 141km/h, and that storm resulted in almost 400,000 homes losing their power. < doesn't even want to imagine what winds twice as strong are going to cause. < hopes the best for whoever is enduring that type of mad weather.

While < hasn't kept the closest eye on the news of it, < has caught glimpses and it was reported as the strongest hurricane they've ever recorded in the region. It scares < to think of the catastophes that will follow.

< has heard on the radio that there are now 500,000 people without power, and that the floods in some places are "waist high". There were reports of crazy stuff like live wires in the water along with those floods, and crazy amounts of rainfall. There haven't been reported deaths or anything as of yet, though < doesn't expect to hear how bad the damage quite was until the storm passes.

PluMGMK wrote: Wed Oct 01, 2025 1:47 pm < can confirm that the BG&E remaster works flawlessly on Proton. It's also 64-bit, which removes a lot of potential compatibility headaches!
< can't get this to launch for some reason. < is on Arch, and < has tried several different versions of Proton. It will act like it's launching, then just go back to saying "PLAY" about 30 seconds later. < wonders if something should be installed that happens to be missing, but nothing anywhere states anything like this...

UPDATE: < apologises, and feels dumb. Turns out that < needed to install "vulkan-radeon" and "lib32-vulkan-radeon". < knew that vulkan-icd-loader was already installed, but didn't know that < had to go install these separately. :oops2:

Oh my gosh, Code Lyoko! That takes < back. < watched all the seasons awhile ago and < had fun (well except the live one?)

Yes, there was a live action reboot in 2013. And the actors are all terrible, but at least they have better proportionned foreheads.

< may have hyperextended <'s quad at practice. Too much punting, it seems.

< wishes companies would just stop trying to live action everything.

Also < wishes the employees would actually fill out their time sheets when they're supposed to. < is missing time sheets from one of the guys which is needed for payroll and for billing reasons. :boon:

< says thanks. The fact < only wanted to open the game to test it, then ended up playing it for 4 hours, probably makes it clear that < found it fun. :P

< instantly sees what the difference between "Jade" and "Shauni" is. :hap:

Oh, < was speaking of Code Lyoko: Evolution when < said that. <'s watched the other seasons. < would like to try watching them in the original language (French) sometime though.

.....

< is recovering but is still coughing a lot. Upon turning off the tower fan < sees that it's a major factor towards why < is still coughing.

< has heard several people mention that fans can make the air rather dry. It at least dries up your eyes when the air keeps blowing in your face.

Normally where < lives, it's a subtropical humid climate. However this day it's actually less humid than usual, only 20-30% today.

< isn't sure how much to trust the clock < has, but the humidity is usually around 50% in <'s room if it's correct. < often gets dry skin though regardless of anything to do with that.

Ahh ok, < knows sometimes if the air's dry, < might get a steamed bowl of water to help moisten the air. At any rate, < hopes the coughing subsides soon!

< laments the fact that Kingdom Hearts never clicked with <, < does enjoy a good portion of the soundtrack.
