France giving away a penalty wasn't really ideal when they had a chance at a comeback and were 4-3 down. Crazy that it ended up 6-4 to England.

Why you sound so innocent? There's no need to be modest here. :P

I think Spain really deserved this win to be honest. They were definitely the best team by far. Argentina had 0 shots by the time it hit the second half of extra time, while Spain had 20 shots where 12 were on target as they scored.

Congratulations to Spain on winning their second star! It was a well-deserved victory. They truly outplayed everyone out there. The Argentinian goalkeeper was incredible, though. They would have lost 10-0 without him.

Yeah I have to give credit to Argentina's keeper to be fair. Their entire play in the final was defend defend defend. They only started attacking when they were actually losing in the second half of extra time. Spain were always all over them, and 100% the deserved victors! Even when they had that disallowed goal for standing on the player's foot in the box, it must have just been like seriously come on!

Damn, what a defensive lockdown by Spain. And I thought France's loss looked bad :/

Wow, what can I say, I didn't expect such a crushing victory. If someone had told me last June that Spain would win the World Cup, I wouldn't have fully believed it.

Spain's dominance over Argentina was brutal. The fact that by the 110th minute, Spain had 20 scoring chances and Argentina didn't have a single one really gives you an idea of how the match unfolded. Even so, I think it was a pretty tough game because of Argentina's aggressive play. We've seen this in other games, and this one was no exception.

Furthermore, I think the referee made some decisions that were far from uncontroversial. Argentina should have had at least one more player sent off (Paredes), and it's unbelievable that their fullback (Tagliafico) wasn't even shown the yellow card until almost the end of extra time, given the number of fouls he had committed. Watching the game, I got the impression that Argentina played a very rough game without much repercussions, and they could very well have had one or two more players sent off if the referee had applied a more... normal standard. And that's not even mentioning the first goal that was disallowed.

Without a doubt, the MVP of the game was Argentina's goalkeeper. Without him, the match could have been a real bloodbath.
