I'd also be down for hosting, I personally find it a lot more fun than being a player! Im usually the host when I play with friends anyhow, spinning a narrative is always entertaining for me!

My vote is for the giant present on the map.

So Record Day is us just posting things? Or do we break records of sorts? I've never participated in Record Day, sadly, but I want to!

I've been playing Splatoon Raiders since it came out a couple of days ago. It's been pretty fun so far, and considering my previous track record with Splatoon 3, it's safe to say that I'll likely stick to single-player experiences when it comes to these games.

You know, this is actually how I imagine the world works in-universe. The way I see it, the Día de los Muertos-themed environments shown in Legends is simply the way that the people of the Mystic Mesa celebrate the Fiesta de los Muertos holiday. Perhaps other worlds do smaller-scale celebrations for it, but in that world specifically they go all-in on it. This would make it make more sense why they avoided naming the world after the holiday, since that is temporary and the world itself probably isn't permanently in that state. The areas explored in Legends might just be one part of the Mystic Mesa and the rest of it doesn't have as many decorations tied to the holiday - Mariachi Madness and the end of the Stinkbog's dragon flight would certainly support that theory.Droolie wrote: Sat Jul 25, 2026 2:52 pm The only reason I can think of why they would want to avoid referencing Día de los Muertos or food in the world's name is if they wanted to make it a point that this environment is not perpetually in that mode - that in the lore, it is a recent transformation or an abnormal state for this world, perhaps caused by the villain (the luchador). The world map also seems to depict it as mostly a desert environment, so they avoided making it food/day of the dead themed even there - making it look completely different from the new footage or from the original game. Very strange.
Sure, maybe they should have chosen a name that implied Mexican ties considering stuff like the Mariachis and Luchadores are probably there year-round, but if all of the decorative environments are just part of temporary festivities or only make up one area of the world, then the Mystic Mesa's name still works well enough in my opinion.
Yep; we've seen Grunderbite, the Armored Toad, El Luchador, and even the Mechanical Dragon (in one shot of the reveal trailer) with the possessed eyes, and the Bubble Dreamer's description of Grunderbite being the protector of the Old Teensie Kingdom does mean that the bosses are no longer evil by nature. I like this new angle, since some of the bosses and enemies didn't really seem like the hostile type (e.g. El Luchador and the aforementioned Mariachis and Luchadores), and I'm intrigued to see how they are described in their normal states.Hunchman801 wrote: Sat Jul 25, 2026 4:44 pmYes, it looks like the bosses are no longer inherently evil, but possessed by that mysterious hooded villain instead. At least, they all share the same purple glowing eyes.
Though I do wonder why the Mechanical Dragon, a robot seemingly built by the Dark Teensy, needed to be possessed? If he's working under the new villain, then it shouldn't require those extra measures, right? And how on earth are they going to explain Hades' Hand?

I spent an hour to an a hour and a half playing one of my favorite PopCap classics - Heavy Weapon Deluxe - on one of my retro PCs. I tried to beat my 20-year old record in Survival Mode, currently sta nding just over eleven and a half minutes. No luck. Although in all of my attempts I got a Top 10 time thrice, the first place stayed about 40 seconds out of reach. Oh, well, maybe next time.
