Today, Sony published a blog post announcing they’re going to end manufacturing physical media for PlayStation.

Oh well, they're already selling boxes with CDs that don't contain the full game, and even when they do, those often are glitchy versions that require downloading patches anyway. Now we'll just be buying empty boxes instead!

This is very disappointing, especially considering their current track record with digital media you buy on their platform, since they'll pulling purchased shows and movies from people's libraries as well?

Looks like I'll be exclusively buying games from Steam then for as long as Gabe Newell is running it.
I'm moreso fearing the day Gabe isn't running Valve anymore.

Really disappointing news, but I almost exclusively play games on my Switch and Switch 2 anyway, so I'm not too personally shaken by it.
