Gandalf? --Sparkle.gifHarukaSparkle.gif 13:55, 7 August 2015 (CEST)

That name comes from the game files of RL. As it is an official source, this character is called Gandalf on the French wiki.
I don't know where the term "Teensy Sorcerer" comes from... --Boomboleros7 15:20, 7 August 2015 (CEST)
Ah I see. Maybe an English contributor can explain the Teensy Sorcerer source. --Sparkle.gifHarukaSparkle.gif 17:23, 7 August 2015 (CEST)
Anyone? No?
Apparently, the term is from Bionichute. Maybe we should ask him where he found it.
Or else, I will move this page to Gandalf, since it's official. --Boomboleros7 00:47, 13 August 2015 (CEST)
Because I really never heard of the Teensy Sorcerer term before, at least officially. If Gandalf is all we know, then it is the name we shall use. (Someone in Ubisoft Montpellier must love Lord of the Rings!) --Sparkle.gifHarukaSparkle.gif 02:11, 15 August 2015 (CEST)

Name

I've been looking through the text for Adventures and found an unused bit of dialogue: "[%TapOrClickUpper] the Elder Teensy to see the [c:HL]Leaderboard[c:]". Here it seems his name is in fact "Elder Teensy". Should we change the name of the article to this? --Carrot signature.png 20:52, 21 November 2019 (CET)

I just want to add this line is translated into all available languages, so it seems to be the most official name we have. Unless anyone has anything against it I'll change the name of the article tonight. --Carrot signature.png 08:25, 22 November 2019 (CET)
As I said during the previous discussion, "Gandalf" comes from the sprites files of RL.
I know the RA dialogue you talking about. It's used at the beginning of the game, during your first visit of the Sacred Tree. In French, the character is called "Ancien Ptizêtre" ("Elder Teensie").
Now, should we change the name of the article? I dunno. Technically, "Gandalf" is the first term used to call the character, so the wiki rule "the first term used must be kept" can be applied here. But we can also argue that "Gandalf" sounds more like a joke from the game files. --Boomboleros7 08:44, 22 November 2019 (CET)
My mistake, I thought it was unused. I'm also aware of the first time rule, but I would argue that having it be a name of a file doesn't count as that was never meant to be seen by us players. I very well believe Gandalf was meant more as a joke than anything else. --Carrot signature.png 10:53, 22 November 2019 (CET)
Yeah, it's like the murrays/eels who are called "Boss Colo" in reference to the Colo claw fish from Star Wars.
"Elder Teensie" sounds more like a "Glade of Dreams name", plus it's a term used in-game which is better than a term used in the sprites files. Maybe we can change the name of the article, and keep "Gandalf" as a redirection. --Boomboleros7 18:40, 22 November 2019 (CET)
If "Elder Teensy" is actually used in the game, it makes it more official than "Gandalf", which may predate but only appears in the game files. I've been meaning to come up with a chart that explains our naming policy for some time now, I'll try to submit a first draft soon. —RRRGBAIcon8.pngRRRGBAIcon0.gifRRRGBAIcon1.png 21:33, 4 December 2019 (CET)
