Pencil sharpeners are objects found in the original game, its spin-offs and the Game Boy Advance version of Rayman Raving Rabbids.
In the original game and its spin-offs they are found in Picture City. They serve as platforms that Rayman can use a surface to progress, they can be either static or follow various trajectories, and are used to cross various chasms that would not otherwise be traversable.
