Carnivora,[2] also known as the Boss Plant,[3] is one of the Four Kings and a boss in Rayman Origins. It is the king of the Jibberish Jungle and the Ticklish Temples.

In Rayman Origins

In Rayman Origins, Carnivora is battled in Poor Little Daisy, the Ticklish Temples' boss level. Upon spotting the heroes, Carnivora chases them upward, causing the platforms that they must ascend on crumble. Once it reaches the top, it pursues the heroes before being blocked by a small passage that the heroes can escape through. If they stay long enough, Carnivora begins banging its head on the passage, presumably attempting to break it, but to no avail.

A little bit later in the level, the heroes fall into an arena where they properly face off against Carnivora. It tries to ram into and crush the heroes, all while revealing bubos that the heroes destroy to weaken Carnivora. In a last ditch effort, Carnivora shoots out its tongue, revealing the last bubo in its mouth. Once destroyed, it deflates back to its original, friendly King form and thanks the heroes for their help.

A mechanical version of Carnivora, named Mecha Carnivora, was built by the Magician to aid in his conquest of the Glade of Dreams. It is fought in The Reveal and follows the same pattern as Carnivora, albeit being destroyed after the second phase and thus omitting the third.

In Rayman Jungle Run

Carnivora returns in Rayman Jungle Run, where it is known as Boss Plant in the game’s wallpaper gallery. It chases the player through the levels "Run for your life" and "Dinner is served" in the Giant plant level pack.

In Rayman Legends

Carnivora reprises its role in Rayman Legends, where it appears in the Back to Origins version of Poor Little Daisy. Other than its dialogue at the end being cut, its behavior is entirely unchanged.

Trivia

  • In the opening cutscene, for a brief moment, Carnivora (in its mutated form) can be seen in a bubble. This could imply that it, along with the other kings, was already under the influence of the nightmares even before the escape of the Livid Dead.
