Shooting Me Softly is the seventh and last level of the Desert of Dijiridoos, the second world in Rayman Origins. It acts as a transition between the Desert of Dijiridoos and Gourmand Land, in a similar fashion to the first part of Bongo Hills in the PC version and its ports of the original Rayman game. This is the third level from this world, and twelfth overall that is included in the Back to Origins painting in Rayman Legends.
Original version
As the heroes enter the level with heavy winds, they soon encounter mosquitoes. As they fly through the level, they must face Helmet Birds, many groups of small yellowish-orange birds and Red Birds, while avoiding big, spiky birds. They also must also avoid crushing didgeridoos with spiky birds attached to them. At times, the mosquitoes must shoot drums to ricochet their shots towards other items, such as switches which will disable air currents being blown that block their way. Eventually, there are swarms of flying creatures to deal with; the mosquitoes must shoot the gongs in order to scare them off and open a path for the heroes.
Afterwards, the heroes reach an area that appears to be the end of the transition of the two worlds. It starts off with nothing but clouds, but clears up to show the ocean in the background with glaciers and ice formations. Here, the heroes must avoid many Helicopter bombs that will explode when shot, then they must fly through icy passages while avoiding spiky oranges. After dodging the spiky oranges, the mosquitoes begin to move faster, as the floor and ceiling move towards each other; the mosquitoes must move quickly in order to avoid getting crushed. afterwards, the heroes are able to disband their mosquitoes. After going through the door, the heroes can break the Electoon cage to end the level; the heroes will pose on the photoboard as the Magician waits for the total amount of Lums that were collected throughout the level.
